Sr. Accountant, General Accounting - 11215 Metro Pkwy

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

This position is responsible for the accounting accuracy of intercompany accounts and foreign exchange gains and losses within the Company's financial statements as well as the preparation of various schedules, reconciliations, and account variance analyses relating to the monthly closing process. This position supports the accounting manager by researching new accounting pronouncements and providing analysis and recommendations based on the guidance. Additionally, this position prepares various management reports including variance explanations utilized by Senior Finance Management, including the CFO.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for providing timely and accurate monthly account analyses, reconciliations and journal entry preparation.
• Maintains currency rates in SAP and record foreign exchange adjustments.
• Records intercompany billing and transfer pricing adjustments.
• Maintains processes and procedures to ensure adherence to fixed asset and other corporate accounting policies.
• Researches certain technical accounting issues as they relate to the current role and develop process improvement efficiencies in the department.
• Develops and maintains a strong working relationship with other departments to facilitate information sharing and adjusting to business changes.
• Serves as a technical resource to other departments and management.
• Assists with record retention, auditor requests, and other special projects, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required
• 4+ years of experience
• General Ledger skills; SAP expertise preferred
• Excellent accounting and financial analysis skills required
• Highly motivated self-starter, excellent communication and leadership skills
• Attentive to detail, well organized and able to thrive in a fast paced dynamic environment
• Working knowledge of GAAP required
• Perform duties with a "Customer Service" mentality
• 3+ years' experience in retail accounting preferred
• CPA/MBA preferred
