The partnership with our roughly 2,000 fashion, beauty, and lifestyle brands is a key part of our DNA. Hereby, the Partner Program - our marketplace model - plays an increasingly significant role. By 2023, we want the Partner Program to contribute to 40% of the overall Zalando business.

As a B2B Communications Manager for Partner Program, you will co-create and distribute content that guides and enables our Partner Program partners to drive their business on Zalando. In this role, you will shape the B2B communication between Zalando and our Partner Program partners. Together with the Partner Program leadership and our B2B Communications team, you will define which topics to communicate when and how, and ensure smooth and impactful execution. Hereby, you will work closely with internal experts to create content as defined. Ultimately, your main objective is to (1) fuel our partners' interest in investing in their Partner Program success and (2) explain to them where to best place their bets and how, e.g. via how-to videos and easy-to-understand case studies.

To succeed, you will need to have a strong understanding of the fashion industry and e-commerce, be a project management superstar, and be able to handle multiple stakeholders simultaneously with ease.
Together with your lead, you will be responsible for deeply understanding our Partner Program business and ensuring partners are enabled through our communication touchpoints to drive success.
  • Strategic Mindset: Based on the business' strategic priorities, you are responsible for deriving what our partners need to know to deliver on them. You deeply understand what our partners care about, what their expectations are towards the Partner Program and how you can enable them to deliver on their strategic priorities. This understanding of our fashion brand partners helps you to create meaningful content. For example, if we set certain % targets regarding internationalization, what kind of content will motivate them to invest (the why) and/or help them to make it happen (the how)?
  • Education: You will liaise regularly with the Partner Program team, as well as the supporting services (e.g. Zalando Fulfillment Solutions) to understand our partners' perspectives and how we can support them through our communication formats. You will also be in touch with individual partners to gather best practices and learnings to share, e.g. via case studies.
  • Content Creation: you will contribute to our overall B2B Marketing calendar by delivering content, whereby formats range from case studies, articles, and newsletters to webinars and video content. For day-to-day communication, you need to be able to knock out a 90%-good-to-go copy for our copywriter to proof-read only. For more complex projects, you need to be able to put together briefings explaining what it is we want to say (business objective, key messages, etc) for our copywriter and designer to support you in execution.
  • Channel Management/Contact Management: You will manage existing communication formats, e.g. (automated) newsletters, Zalando Partner University, and also contribute content to the Brand Hub. In addition, you will manage our Partner Program contact database which is key for building a sustainable CRM structure.

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Communication or equivalent, as well as 3-5 years of experience in a similar role. Once onboarded, you need to be able to understand the strategic decisions and challenges fashion brands face on marketplaces and be smart in deriving content that addresses this.
  • Zalando is a fast-paced organization with little hand-holding and a lot of ownership - if you're up to the task. Hence, you need to work well on your own as well as in a team, of course. You are eager to learn and feel responsible for the quality and contribution of your work. You are extremely well-organized, diligent in getting it done, and meticulous down to the last detail.
  • You are a people's person and an exceptional communicator in written and oral communications in English. German is a plus.
  • You have a good working knowledge of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Slides). Experience with communication toolings, such as MailChimp, HubSpot, or Salesforce Pardot, is a big plus.
