SUMMARY

Under guidance of VP ensure that the process and workflow from design to final show samples meets all deadlines. This role is an important support function throughout all development phases of the collection.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned accordingly by the VP of Product Development.

  • Facilitate collection launches, manage and complete the multi-seasonal design development process to optimize and support calendar adherence
  • Prepare design materials for key meetings for collection development review to ensure compliance on deadlines; follow-up with the design team on deadlines and workflow
  • Provide financial administrative support to the Design studio; oversee expenses and ensure processes are being followed in a productive and efficient way, i.e. coding of invoices in GCS/SAP, recording of petty cash. Work closely with VP to ensure the budget remains within seasonal target
  • Curate the design department’s agenda based on weekly objectives, company needs and requirements
  • Help to prioritize tasks based on their level of importance. Constantly reflect on variables including timing, workload, design changes and budget considerations
  • Anticipate any possible obstacles throughout the process to ensure a smooth execution of plans and actively and immediately inform Management of all potential problems such as delays and budget overruns in order to take corrective actions
  • Report and update VP on a weekly basis regarding the design and development progress to assess if collection objectives and company needs are aligned
  • Liaise with freelance jewelry designer to ensure proper execution of jewelry collection
  • Together with the merchandising team create and update line lists in GCS as well as proper coding of each style
  • Create Purchase Orders in SAP/GCS as necessary, supporting the design team
  • Provide support to atelier, i.e. ordering of zippers, threads, pins, errand runs
  • Manage vendor maintenance forms
  • Organize vacation schedules of Design and PD teams to be aligned with collection calendar
  • Prepare the showroom for design fittings and stylist appointments

​​​​​​​QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of at least 5 years of experience with a luxury fashion brand/business
  • Computer literate, including good knowledge of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) & Adobe Photoshop
  • Educated to degree level in a related discipline with evident interest in fashion
  • Knowledge of fabrics and the design process advantageous
  • Budget conscious and a good and deep understanding of garment costs, fabric costs, shipments, etc. – to allow for educated and informed decisions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized, good at prioritization 
  • Hard-working, resilient and flexible
  • Problem solving, and solution orientated with a ‘Can-do’ attitude
  • A strong team player who is considerate of colleagues and maintains the highest standards and level of service
  • Ability to be discrete, confidential and reliable at all times
