Import Specialist (TEMP) - Fort Worth, TX

OVERVIEW

The Import Specialist must have technical expertise and in depth knowledge in all aspects of Import management. The Specialist is responsible for supporting Richemont North America, Inc. import activities including complying with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, United States Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), Foods and Drugs Administration (FDA), Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), an United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The position emphasizes resolving import issues that may arise and includes interaction with other organizations within Richemont such as Maisons, distribution centers, repair centers and customer service center, as well as with Customs Brokers, 3PL's, and government officials. A component of the position is analyzing and interpreting US import and export regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To be successful, an individual must be able to perform each one of the following essential duties satisfactorily:
  • Support Richemont North America, Inc. daily inbound operations
  • Work closely with customs brokers to secure prompt releases from US Customs and Partner Government Agencies
  • Verify shipment documentation for proper valuation, classification, country of origin, and record retention.
  • Designate Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTS) for imported materials
  • Review and ensure all documentation and recordkeeping is accurate and maintained to applicable standards
  • Extract, proof, analyze and update import data components as necessary in SAP
  • Liaise with shippers, consignees, 3PL's, brokers and overseas offices
  • Perform special tasks related to import export operations as assigned


Areas of Competencies
  • 5 or more years of import experience
  • U.S. Customs brokerage license preferred yet not required
  • Understanding of U.S. import/export regulations including CBP, FWS, FDA, USDA and BIS
  • Functional knowledge of import / export processes, controls, and documentation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTS)
  • Functional knowledge of global logistics and Incoterms
  • Functional knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Access and SAP (preferred)
