Senior Accountant, Staff - General Accounting - 11215 Metro Pkwy

Position Objective

This position is responsible for the preparation of various schedules, reconciliations, and account analyses relating to the monthly closing process. Additionally, the position prepares various management reports including variance explanations utilized by Senior Finance Management, including the CFO.

Functional Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing timely and accurate monthly account analyses, reconciliations and journal entry preparation.
• Ensures accurate accounting for accrued marketing and prepaid marketing.
• Analyzes and adjusts accounting estimates to ensure appropriate amounts are recorded
• Prepares and reviews certain variances analysis reports.
• Researches certain technical accounting issues as they relate to the current role and develop process improvement efficiencies in the department.
• Develops and maintain a strong working relationship with other departments to facilitate information sharing and adjusting to business changes.
• Assists with record retention, auditor requests, and other special projects, as needed.

Education

Preferred - BA/BS in Accounting
Preferred - BA/BS in related field

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience required; 2+ years' experience in retail accounting required
• General Ledger skills; SAP expertise preferred
• Excellent accounting and financial analysis skills required
• Highly motivated self-starter, excellent communication and leadership skills
• Attentive to detail, well organized and able to thrive in a fast paced dynamic environment
• Working knowledge of GAAP required
• Excellent written and communications skills required
• Perform duties with a "Customer Service" mentality
