In 2018 it was awarded the Emerging Talent Award Brand by British Luxury Association WALPOLE, recognising its commitment to innovation, craftsmanship and the highest standards of quality. DeMellier handbags have become a favourite among strong women all over the world, including celebrities such as Beyonce, Emily Blunt, Meghan Markle Duchess of Sussex, January Jones, Kristen Bell and Lily Collins among others. 

In addition to its direct-to-consumer business, DeMellier is stocked in leading department stores such as Le Bon Marche, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, David Jones and Lane Crawford among others.

Assisting and reporting to the Head of Sales & Marketing, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator is a key role within the DeMellier team that will provide the right candidate with an opportunity to have a direct impact on the development of the brand and to develop and execute the marketing and communications strategy for a fast-growing designer fashion brand.

Key responsibilities:

Communications & Social Media

• Plan, execute and maintain the brand’s organic social media posting strategy and keep up to date with the social media scene, best practices, new platforms etc.
• Help with content creation & copywriting for all Marketing & Communications collaterals: social media organic posts, website blog articles, press releases, newsletters, etc.
• Build, update and maintain weekly and monthly social media reports

PR & Events

• Be the primary point of contact for PR and celebrity agencies (UK & US) and manage them to maximise the brand’s visibility
• Be the primary in-house PR contact for US Press
• Write, create and share press releases with the help of the Head of Marketing and Graphic Design team
• Manage all samples’ allocation and tracking, coordinating with Design, Wholesale and Creative teams and external agencies and press and with Logistics partner and couriers
• Manage and execute seeding and gifting efforts to celebrities and influencers
• Build and maintain relationships with influencers and brand ambassadors
• Coordinate brand events

Branding & Marketing

• Work closely with Creative & Graphic Design team to maintain brand assets and imagery database
• Work with Production and Head of Marketing to select products for photoshoots to use across marketing collaterals
• Be the link between the Marketing and Creative teams, working with both departments on delivering relevant imagery and assets

Reporting & Analysis

• Assist the Head of Marketing in developing DeMellier’s marketing and communications strategy by preparing regular analyses and reports (weekly, monthly and ad hoc)
• Help the Head of Marketing with ad hoc Marketing research and benchmarks.

The ideal candidate:

• Degree in Business, PR, Fashion Management or similar
• Some PR or Marketing experience, ideally for a Fashion / Accessories / Luxury brand
• Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel & whole Microsoft suite
• A true team player, comfortable working in a small structure and with a “can do” attitude
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Very strong attention to detail
• Eager to learn and take part in the growth of a fast-paced brand
