THE ROLE

You will be part of the Product Development and Production team working directly with design and will be responsible for your own product groups

The role involves participating in product line planning and strategy, following up and managing all aspects of the critical path from sampling through to bulk production. The position involves working across multi-category products ranging from outerwear to across casual to accessories.

You have a background of working with commercially minded, premium menswear products and are detail and quality-oriented. The role consists of the following tasks :

Product experience:

  • Experience in product line planning and merchandising within high end casual & technical outerwear
  • Commercial understanding & negotiation skills
  • Passion and sensibility for high-quality fabrics and products 
  • Knowledge of and passion for functionally oriented products 
  • Understanding of fabrics and techniques for wash and technical make across casual and technical Outerwear is preferred.
  • Strong commercial understanding and ability to evaluate product costing

The Role:

  • Manage the critical path to develop sample collections, process bulk orders, ensure on-time deliveries and effectively communicate within the company and with external suppliers.
  • Commercial understanding of products and the true cost of a product
  • Liaise between design and suppliers to develop the collection in line with the critical path.
  • Create and maintain accurate information on the PDM and ERP systems for style creation, BOMs, garment cost and purchase orders. ( assisted by product coordinator)
  • Support design and technical departments during fittings and communicate findings to suppliers
  • Place orders of bulk garments, monitor deliveries, finding solutions to any issues that arise and negotiating terms where necessary.
  • Arrange and undertake visits to suppliers.
  • Negotiate FOB/CMT cost prices and calculate landed prices.
  • Source trims, fabric or yarns in cooperation with the design team.
  • Push innovative development across their own categories in collaboration with designers.
  • Travel to factories & trade fairs. Have a strong sense of sourcing and planning.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

It is mandatory that you can demonstrate an in-depth understanding of menswear and DNA of Norse Projects. We emphasise on the following criteria :

  • 5+ years of experience in similar roles.
  • Understanding of garment construction and fabric knowledge.
  • Excellent numeracy and planning skills are mandatory.
  •  A strong and organised approach to taking on responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication, time management and organisational skills.
  • Outcome-based mindset
