eCommerce Buyer

JOB SUMMARY

The eCommerce Buyer will be responsible for buying and assorting merchandise following Brand's directives for the eCommerce platforms in China, including Tmall, brand.cn and WeChat store. S/he will be working closely with the eCommerce, Retail and Marketing groups to establish strategic merchandize plans to support the Brand's growth on the eCommerce platforms.

JOB DESCRIPTION

BUYING

• Under guidance of Buying Manager and Head of eCommerce Operations, buy and assort merchandise for Brand's eCommerce platforms in China
• Assist in formulating buying strategy and buying process to make sure each buy is done properly (quantity and styles) by assorting the line, analyzing history, and identifying volume drivers to maximize sales for each season with guidance and collaboration with the Corporate Buying function
• Work closely with eCommerce and Marketing teams to strategize product launches, including key messages and promotional tactics
• Work closely with eCommerce and Marketing functions in the market and in the HQ to ideate site experience
• Be the gatekeeper for merchandise distribution, stock allocation and merchandise reordering management

PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON LOCAL MARKETS NEEDS

• On-going communication with eCommerce Team in the U.S. on local market needs, including special product requests and new programs for China
• Be alert to local industry trends and competitor awareness in pricing, trend, quality and products offers. Compile competitive analysis when needed

SALES DRIVER AND OWNERSHIP

• Construct sales reports and analyze sales weekly to identify current sales trends, inventory situation, and opportunities, recommending action plan weekly to business owners to drive sales:
  • Sales/EOH by season, concept, class, style, platform
  • Action Plan on Best Seller and Slow Mover
  • Recommend Markdowns/Promotions
  • Call out any Initial Product delivery issues and/or propose replenishment
  • Co-ordinate Bi- Weekly local products transfer/consolidation
  • Event planning and coordination merchandising related
• Support local retail team on merchandising related such as defective products, system retail price error, store product request etc.

LOCAL MARKET EXPERT

• Competitor analysis, pricing research, product research, consumer research
• Collecting market trends, successes/opportunities and the end consumer behavior, and then come out how to influence and improve the future collections for the country
• Support any Marketing/PR tie ups, events, exclusive opportunities merchandising related
