Job Details

As Head of Commercial, you will be the dedicated owner for the sales and account management teams of the Connected Retail commercial network. Your teams win major brands and retailers across Europe to integrate their brick-and-mortar stores into our platform. You are steering part of one of the most innovative and fastest growing Zalando teams. You will reinvent retail: Online-to-Offline.
WHERE YOUR EXPERIENCE IS NEEDED
  • Scaling. Own the commercial client growth of Connected Retail in all current and future markets.
  • Commercial planning & analytics. Drive the Connected Retail Commercial business case and strategy by overseeing the sales forecasting and steering process across all commercial teams.
  • Leadership. As Commercial Head, you will provide leadership and mentoring to your teams, outlining the vision and strategy to bring Connected Retail to the next level. You will lead by example, both within the team and to other Zalando teams. You will influence where necessary to lead diverse teams towards Connected Retails visions.
  • Stakeholder management. As an inherently cross-functional role, you create close relationships with internal and external stakeholders and top management in order to align on business priorities. You will actively communicate your progress and ensure smooth operation.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Background and experience. You have gained 10+ years extensive work experience in the lifestyle industry (e.g. fashion, sportswear, beauty), FMCG, a B2B commercial function in leading tech companies or other consumer-oriented commercial leadership roles.
  • Analytical thinking. Be able to fly high and dive deep in every dimension of analysis. You have outstanding P&L management capabilities to deliver on ambitious goals (including planning, monitoring and taking actions). You are a strategic commercial thinker with an impressive analytical, statistical and conceptual skill set.
  • Client & business insights. Be able to abstract our clients needs and scale business opportunities into a sound road map that yields results on both short-term and long-term. You have an in-depth understanding of e-commerce. Be comfortable in a fast paced environment and always look for pragmatic and creative solutions to change the game.
  • Inspire disruptive innovation. Be in close contact with our product and engineering team, who will help translate your experiences into technology. At Connected Retail you HAVE impact on the product.
  • Effective and inspiring networker. We believe in autonomous teams that can own and drive topics. We rely on people with agile mindsets, talking to each other to identify interdependencies and sources of mutual value to create optimal solutions.

The digitization of retailers' stores and their integration with Zalando is a further step towards the best possible shopping experience for our customers. With a larger network, we can improve the availability of products, we can accelerate the delivery speed and we reduce the carbon footprint of deliveries substantially. In the long run, Zalando customers can benefit from this approach, such as same-day delivery or click-and-collect. Currently, partners can become part of Zalando Connected Retail by digitizing their inventory from local stores and processing orders via Zalando's platform.
