Production Manager

We are hiring a Production Manager to coordinate all of our domestic and overseas apparel and accessories production. 

You are responsible for the production life cycle management of all OI styles.

Working with the designer and design assistant to manage each new style from initial design to product launch and e-commerce shipment.

Your responsibilities include working with the designer and founder and her assistant while creating and managing a detailed WIP (Work in Progress sheet) to follow each style at every stage of production and trouble-shoot any issues throughout the entire process. 

This position requires daily communication with factories to ensure on-time and on price delivery while adhering to super strict quality standards and budgets. 

Receiving and logging all pre production and TOP samples, prioritizing as needed and following up with design for comments and addressing any delays to the team.

Assist in the selection of sustainable and luxury fabrics and yarns, all with final price-point and margins in mind. Ensuring company awareness on market trends in fabric technology, sustainability and clean and sustainable manufacturing processes.

Ability to source and produce samples with sustainable knits and wovens and novelty materials while working with factories on domestic and international production daily - achieving deadlines for fabric, trim, fit samples and final SMS.

Review and monitor fabric and trim testing pre and post production while ensuring that we are working with the highest quality fabrics and trim from the ground up. Ensuring textile quality and composition from the start,  results in long-wearing apparel that stands the test of time.

The ability to be a liaison between our overseas suppliers, freight forwarder and our Brooklyn studio and Manhattan partners to ensure a smooth and timely hand-off of each and every design.

The communication skills and know how to work cross-functionally with design, production, and the e-commerce sales team members to discuss all necessary style, fit, and style information on a daily basis.  This includes working with the factory and if necessary pattern marker to resolve any any and all production issues.

Analyzing customer order data from our website to ensure the proper size ratio for all orders while constantly working to improve fit, sizing and quality of each garment and accessory to minimize customer returns and exchanges.

Purchase order management

Create and allocate purchase orders for new and restock/replenishment orders. 

Work closely with the finance manager to help plan fabric and factory payouts quarterly and semi-annually. 

Closely track and update unit costs, negotiating as necessary and calculating final landed costs before products are sold to accurately track margins.

Your skills include

You must have exceptionally strong organizational skills and amazing written and oral communication and presentation skills. 

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photo Shop, Indesign, PowerPoint and Excel as well as Google Drive, Docs and Sheets along with Slack and Dropbox.

Strong working knowledge of apparel production mathematics. 

On a day-to-day basis you will be scheduling and conducting fittings with domestic factories, receiving shipments at our studio, managing our quality control team, taking physical inventory, and examining tech packs with all knowledge of all of the necessary product information and specifications. 

Facilitate and analyze QC reports, taking action to correct issues as needed.

You will also be responsible for the creation and upkeep of costing logs and negotiating pricing at the fabric and factory level while tracking production status of all open orders.
