Summary
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Merchandising Manager Central Europe will be responsible for all the Merchandising activities within the area (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary and Czech Republic).

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

Local Market Feedback & Buying
  • Provide Region with pre-buy qualitative feedback as well as client insight at store level
  • Buying for all categories, at Country/Store level (Pink Sheet) in order to customize each assortment to individual store needs, full potential and new opportunities.
  • Know the market, specificity of each store and give constructive feedback to Region e.g. missing functionality, fitting, sizing etc. as well


Business Expertise & Implementation
  • Understand product/store performance through qualitative feedback and identify growth opportunities
  • Implementation of the prioritization at store level (define store focus e.g. monthly newsletter by store via BOB)


Inter-Department Collaboration & Execution
  • Collaboration with Hub Consumer management to maximize potential of client event sales e.g. specific requests follow-ups
  • Partnering with MarCom to promote push products through all key contact points
  • Collaboration with Retail to drives sales (actions for BOH efficiency, incentive, event sales target)


In-Season Management & Driving the Business
  • Implement/activate buying strategy and propose/review stock rebalancing and assortment changes (SHARE) based on qualitative feedback


People Management
  • People Management of Hub Local Merchandiser, with a strong focus on development and training


Key Requirements
  • At least 7 years of international experience in a similar role within fashion retail companies
  • Strong creative hand with ability to research and communicate maintaining the Gucci image for all the Hub
  • Ability to work across all levels of the business - drive commercial success
  • Computer literate, including excellent knowledge of Microsoft tools (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Photoshop would be considered a plus
  • Fluent inGerman and English, other languages are a plus
  • Management of international teams
  • Excellent communication skillsand ability to interface regularly with internal and external personnel at all levels
