About the role

We are looking for a tax analyst to be responsible for the preparation, filing and payment of assigned North American sales and use tax returns, reconcile assigned general ledger tax accounts, maintain tax calendar, respond to and resolve governmental notices, perform tax research and various projects as assigned. The role is based at Gap Inc.'s Corporate Shared Service Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico and will report to the Manager of Sales and Use Tax.

What you'll do

• Prepare and file assigned sales and use tax returns
• Reconcile assigned tax accounts
• Research and respond to government notices
• Conduct Tax Research
• Participation in special projects as assigned

Who you are

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or previous applicable multistate sales tax experience
  
• Basic understanding of GAAP
  
• MBA/MSA/MST/CMI/CPA Tax Certification a plus
  
• Relevant business experience a plus
  
• Research software experience a plus (RIA Checkpoint or CCH)
  
• Oracle and Vertex software experience
  
• One-year account reconciliation experience a plus
