Position Overview
The Technical Design, 3D position is responsible and accountable for creating digital assets in Browse Wear for the company to use in several different work streams, i.e.: digital showrooms and technical design / QA approvals. It is imperative that these digital assets are an accurate 3D representation of a style going to market. They can be colored up or used in blank format. The Technical Design, 3D position works on all brands, genders, categories, and product areas to achieve corporate goals. When needed, The Technical Design, 3D may also work as a Technical Designer in the brands creating tech packs using the departmental tools.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* This position is literate in Browse Wear to create digital assets- inclusive of share point use to import avatars and block patterns needed to be successful.
* This candidate is literate in all departmental tools (i.e. Technical Design standards) to ensure accurate starting points are used when creating digital assets.
* Communication is essential to the success of the Technical Design, 3D as they must:
* Continually communicate with Design and PD (and Merchants) as needed to know the strategic vision of a brand in order to execute the digital assets. Understand how and when the assets will be used.
* Working with Design to ensure the digital assets is appealing to the masses for use in showrooms, etc....
* Working with the Edit / Copy Team to ensure the digital asset is quality driven able to be used on the website.
* Working with the Raw Materials Team and the Trim Team to ensure seasonal fabrics and trims are digitized timely to ensure use in the digital assets as needed.
* This position is responsible for ensuring PLM Tech Pack creation for corresponding tech packs of 3D digital assets.
* This position is also at times working for brand tech design teams as prescribed creating tech packs, measuring samples, reviewing proto garments, fitting stock garments, etc....
* This position is responsible for knowing all simplification tools for brands and product areas they are told to be familiar with. This includes but is not limited to: labelling combo kits, packaging combo kits, fold manuals, block body spreadsheets, pattern numbering systems, etc....
* The 3D Technical Design Department may be used for graphic driven projects and therefore the Technical Designer 3D must be flexible with helping to complete tasks such as Adobe Illustrator sketches, construction manuals, "How to Measure" diagrams, etc.... on an "as needed" basis.
* The Technical Designer, 3D is accountable for knowing the capacity of suppliers that are able and willing to create digital assets using Browse Wear or any other 3D tool. The quality of all digital assets is ultimately this positions responsibility if it is assigned to them to own. NOTE: Quality standards have been set...
* This position is responsible for ensuring progress of product is accurately communicated through the use of Style Zone.
* This position is also responsible for knowing how to use Lota to ensure they are able to train and mentor / teach / coach the design department on how to create designs in Lota. NOTE: This position will have to host a training session or class on occasion when asked.
* When Lota work is received from Design, they are responsible and accountable for translating it into a Browse Wear Digital Asset at the appropriate time in the calendar if required. NOTE: This means as soon as there is an approved pattern to create one from...
* This position requires the addition of detail into design sketches as needed via the use of Adobe Illustrator.
* This position must be familiar with grade rules to ensure digital assets are grading correctly.
* Given that all digital assets will be used in the "product file" for final inspection, the position must ensure final accuracy before production to enable a robust final inspection.
* Responsible for ensuring all tracking reports are completed on time and accurately to enable leadership to aggregate totals as needed. · E- mail, phone and video conference communication with NY/HK as well as other offices globally. · Final Note: o Browse Wear capability and Lota will support us in moving fast into "New Ways of Working". This position is to be open to New Ways of Working and suggest, modify, and be comfortable with new ideas as time goes by.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

* Degree or Certification in Apparel Manufacturing, Design or equivalent work experience
* 5+ years in apparel related role
* Good verbal and written communication skills · Strong organizational skills and ability manage competing priorities.
* A sense of urgency and attention to detail
* Responsible and accountable
* Ability to proactively problem solve
* Knowledge of 3D programs a must
* Illustrator sketching a must Computer Skills: Browse Wear, Lota, Gerber, PLM, Adobe Illustrator, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word
