The role of the Merchandise Planner is to lead the inventory management responsibilities within the Direct to Consumer Channels (Physical Retail Locations and Online). The Planner will apply strong analytics and financial acumen that support Revenue Growth, Profitability and Brand Objectives.

This role will partner closely with other aspects of merchandise management team including additional merchandise planners, buyers, allocation, merchandising team, and field management. 

This role will report into the Head of Retail and Head of Ecommerce divisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Open to Buy (creating category plans and actualizing)
  • Develop seasonal financial merchandise plans at the category and product level that align to company sales, inventory, turn, and profit targets
  • Partner with buyers during seasonal projections and buy process to ensure alignment with specific categories and business goals (style depth, sku targets, etc.)
  • Partner with divisional leads to forecast monthly topline plans by door, for retail and ecommerce
  • Actualize topline performance by channel and by store
  • Partner with divisional leads to assess successes and challenges with inventory performance vs. plan and action accordingly
  • Maintain communication with field management and stores to action through inventory challenges at store level
  • Collaborate with allocations on initial distribution and replenishment strategies
  • Partner with the merchandise teams on transfer analysis between channels during in season and at end of season
  • Partner with the merchandise teams on creating indices and size scales
  • Partner with division leads on the promotional calendar
  • Execute ladder planning for the basics’ replenishment business
  • Partner with the visual teams on store capacity (sku and total number of units)
  • Provide weekly stock to sales performance, including reporting, analysis and proposed actions
  • Find new ways to ensure continuous improvement which may include new tools for analysis to help stores, online business, and DTC Channels
  • Additional projects & responsibilities to support the needs of the business

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in merchandise planning.
  • Strong retail math skills
  • Ability to prioritize and take on last minute projects that may arise
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Retail Pro Software is preferred
  • Prior experience within DTC (physical stores & ecommerce) preferred
  • Experience within the fashion industry preferred (preferably in apparel and/or footwear)
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time
