As a Merchandise Planning & Pricing Associate at The RealReal, you will support pricing strategy & execution, assist in the planning & forecasting process, and analyze business performance to identify opportunities/risks. Your key focus will be to support business objectives through high quality pricing execution and data analysis. Strong attention to detail, analytical and communication skills are key for success in this role.

What You Get To Do Every Day
  • Leverage strong attention to detail to execute on pricing adjustments and promotions with a high degree of quality & accuracy
  • Evaluate and implement pricing strategies based on data analysis and current business & competitive market dynamics
  • Perform ad hoc analysis to identify gaps and recommend courses of action to manager to drive sales and achieve KPIs
  • Assist in the development of financial plans and forecasts for a merchandise category, summarizing business drivers, risks and opportunities
  • Support process for creating reports for weekly and monthly business reviews
  • Evaluate and build processes and tools in support of continuous improvement efforts - including standardization, automation and quality control
  • Partner with cross functional partners such as the Merchant Team and Business Intelligence to drive implementation of process & tool roll out where applicable
  • Work closely with internal departments and provide answers to pricing inquiries in a timely and professional manner using thorough research, analytics and product knowledge

What You Bring To The Role
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required and a MINIMUM of 2+ years of proven success in merchandise planning, financial planning, pricing strategy, or business analytics
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables & Google Suite required
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking & problem solving skills
  • Experience with Open-to-Buy, traditional retail metrics, and inventory management frameworks a plus
  • Able to handle multiple projects with proven success in analyzing large data sets related to a wide variety of business problems
  • Self starter who can ramp up quickly and is excited to take on new challenges
