DESIGNER-
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Participating in and helping to manage the conceptual design development of four collections per year, as well as capsule collections for department stores
- Working closely with the Head of Design to interpret and develop key seasonal color and concept ideas in innovative but commercial ways
- Designing, sketching and creating spec sheets for every style, including all technical information clearly detailed for either domestic patternmakers and/or offshore factories for development
- Overseeing style and fit of product during all fittings until SMS have been approved
- Upholding the design integrity and high quality execution of the brand in a timely manner throughout the entire development process
- Exploring ways of expanding and growing the brand
Candidate Requirements:
- A four year college degree
- 5+ years of experience in a similar position
- Capable of handling multiple projects and juggling priorities in an organized but flexible manner.
- Aware of trends in the in the fashion world, consistently visiting stores and identifying key trends and how they relate to our brand
- Strong organizational skills, time management, problem solving skills, and attention to detail
- Driven by commitment, high standards, and innovation
- Able to work fast, efficient, and nimble under pressure in a shifting and collaborative environment
- Creative thinker with ability to push ideas
Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to sketch and draw flats
- Strong knowledge of garment construction
- Strong computer knowledge including Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Excel
