As a Merchandise Planner you are responsible for the planning the Kids Footwear unit of Zalando, specifically for Casual & Highstreet brands. You will be focusing on analytics, financial and inventory performance. You will be in charge of the pre-seasonal planning and the in-season trading.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Owning pre-season merchandise financial planning by category, taking trends, campaigns, country plans and selling levers into account. You ensure your category remains competitive while optimizing margin and stock turn. You control OTB for your category to maximize sales, gross margin and inventory turn. You own the complete in season management for your area and are responsible for your end of period stock position.
  • Identifying trends, initiatives and opportunities. Collaborating with two buyers, you will develop a category strategy, brands and price clusters, optimizing width and depth, tailoring to specific market needs. You will work closely with brands negotiating the right terms for your business and leading the brand relationships growing the Zalando business season after season.
  • Conducting historical analysis to better understand the business, as well as manage assortment planning through flow plans and product quantifications. You take ambitious growth targets in your stride and are creative in your approach of how to get there.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or comparable field, with at least 4-5 years of Merchandising/Planning experience (preferably at a multi-national fashion-retailer and/or within eCommerce). Familiarity utilizing at least one merchandise planning software is highly beneficial.
  • Uncertainty in your business does not scare you, you feel comfortable with deciding based on facts and taking risks to grow your department You embrace change and are always on the hunt for solutions. You have excellent English skills, communicate clearly with varied stakeholders and possess solid negotiation skills.
  • You remain motivated and structured in very dynamic and fast-paced environments, embrace change and you are always on the hunt for solutions.
  • Your excellent analytical skills put you on top of the class and you just love working with numbers. You are an expert in using Excel and the MS Office package.
