Overview
The Business of Fashion is seeking an Editorial Apprentice with a high degree of professionalism and integrity, an open and analytical mind and a creative eye to both contribute to, and benefit from The Business of Fashion’s editorial apprenticeship programme.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a global editorial team with the overall goal to provide agenda-setting intelligence, analysis and advice for the global fashion community.
With a passion for fashion business and a strong grasp for the fundamentals of journalism, you’ll be supporting our global team with copyediting, article production and image research whilst monitoring the news wires, writing up short news summaries and covering our #BoFLive events.

What We Need You To Do
During this 12-month apprenticeship, you will:
● Copy edit stories to ensure they are free of errors
● Be accountable for the production and formatting of articles
● Be accountable for image research and coordinating with the editors to identify the visual needs of articles
● Monitor news wires for stories to include on site
● Write up brief news summaries
● Support journalists with research
● Help the team on projects such as Fashion Week
Who You Are
You are embarking on your journalism / editorial journey, with strong writing and copyediting skills. With effective communication skills and a can-do attitude, you perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail.
Outside of that, you will have the following skills that will help set you up for success:
● Strong writing skills, including copywriting and exceptional proofreading ability
● Have a good sense of identifying relevant news stories across a variety of news wires
● Ability to quickly write up news in a clear and concise manner
● A creative flair with the ability to come up with design ideas, images and graphics; a good understanding of photoshop
● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
● Willingness to occasionally work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of a 24-hour news cycle

● Articles are published according to our Style Guide and free of errors
● Articles are supported by strong, engaging and on-brand visuals
● The news feed includes all of the latest global fashion news
● You are able to identify what makes a BoF story, and occasionally pitch and write those stories yourself
