About the role:

Reporting to the Farfetch Platform Solutions Studio Manager, this role will focus on Live Model Photography. The Photography Specialist will be responsible for assuring high-quality standards in accordance with each of our brands' guidelines whilst supporting productivity and efficiency. They will be responsible for applying their expertise and experience to guarantee the training and development of all members of the team in-line with department expectations.

What you'll do:

  • Have full understanding and knowledge of each brand's guidelines, ensuring the on-set teams are briefed appropriately and that workflow is running smoothly;
  • Oversee the image output of the studios to ensure the highest standards of quality, consistency and accuracy whilst maintaining productivity and targets;
  • Contribute to team planning and scheduling for each shoot to ensure the best results, alongside Live Model Studio Lead and Deputy Styling Editor;
  • Confidently oversee all aspects of technical accuracy and Capture One settings across the different studios in collaboration with the Technical Team;
  • Proactive in suggesting continuous improvements to existing Ways of Working or proposing new strategies and assist in coordinating their implementation;
  • Identify areas of opportunity and devise ongoing training for the photography team as well as the on-boarding and training of new team members;
  • Consistently review and evaluate the development of the Photography team, contributing to twice yearly reviews, identifying needs for training and development;
  • Support the Art Direction team in the development of existing brand guidelines and the creation of guidelines for new clients;
  • Support the Art Direction team in the clear communication of briefs to the studio teams, ensuring that the required creative vision is understood and is being achieved through the assurance of lighting, colour, composition and model direction;
  • Receive and respond to briefs for Creative Services initiatives and projects as provided by the Art Direction team, ensuring a focus on achieving the highest-quality results and solutions;
  • Work in an open-minded, close and collaborative team environment and must exhibit professional conduct consistent with the values of the Company.

Who you are:

  • Extensive experience and portfolio in photography ideally gained in both editorial and e-commerce environments;
  • A comprehensive understanding and interest in the Global luxury fashion landscape, encompassing photography, design trends and innovation;
  • Strong experience in directing models;
  • Excellent technical knowledge in photography and lighting and good understanding of retouching;
  • Knowledge and experience working with video is ideal;
  • Contribute to the collaborative and innovative culture within the FPS team, ensuring everyone can contribute to how we redefine e-commerce photography;
  • Outstanding attention to detail with a focus on driving excellence and high quality results;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English);
  • Must be able to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment;
  • Team player with a positive attitude;
  • Able to take feedback on board and adapt to change;
  • Great communication and soft skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to follow creative ideas and briefs successfully and train other photographers;
  • Able to adapt to the specificities of each brand while always achieving quality standards;
  • Ability to troubleshoot lighting and software issues, with a calmness under pressure;
  • Ability to adapt and respond well to changing priorities, workflows and information;
  • Great time management skills, being able to work under tight deadlines;
  • Strong knowledge of Windows/Macintosh based equipment within a network environment;
  • Regular user of IT systems (MS Office, Google Docs, Google Slides and Google Sheets);
  • Strong knowledge in image editing and management softwares (Capture One, Adobe Bridge, Adobe Photoshop);
  • Experience with strobe lights, light meters, Pocket Wizards, Profoto and Canon systems;
