Job Details

Purpose:

The Head of Digital Channels is a new role that will have overall responsibility for the ecommerce website including the commercial , technical, operational and creative aspects within digital.  We are looking for an expert in this area who is commercially minded with a creative flair that can join our team and bring their expertise across digital to help us shape the strategy as well as our approach to the wider digital realm.  Key areas of responsibility will be client satisfaction and conversion which is achieved through collaborating with cross-functional partners to manage all aspects of the ecommerce business, including business planning, content strategy and development, promotional campaigns and other online marketing, website design, customer service, web analytics and web technologies. We are looking for a strong leader that can be hands-on in their approach , build key relationships quickly and be able to support and upskill the existing team.

Responsibilities:

Strategy and analysis

  • Working closely with the Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Digital & Logistics Officer to define the strategy and vision that will support the company’s expansion plan over multiple international entities.
  • Act as a key figure and work with wider teams to align on digital strategy as well as future plans.
  • Identify opportunities and align cross functionally to drive new business initiatives.
  • Working with the Communications department, lead the ecommere content strategy, planning and implementation ensuring all content meets the brand guidelines, upholds standards and integrity, and raises our profile.
  • Continually search for excellence in digital experience.
  • Collaborate with commercial team to select the Ecommerce product assortment.
  • Manage product catalogue and analyse marketplace trends.
  • Identify and evaluate new marketing opportunities to increase the website traffic and online production.
  • Determine the website format and alongside the Ecommerce manager, interact with the design team and web developers to design or make changes accordingly.
  • Board level reporting and analysis (e.g. sales, Google, stock etc.) with strategic feedback.

Client experience and relationship building

  • Coninuously keep an eye on the competitor environment and conduct research to ensure the company has a unique position on its ecommerce platform offering a customer centric luxury experience.
  • Evaluate and then reinforce the communication channels between all of our various international partners
  • Manage user experience of the website including site navigation, content development, checkout funnel and promotional campaigns.
  • Partner with in-house Legal and Supply Chain teams to ensure all aspects of website are globally compliant (e.g. import duties, accessibility etc.)
  • Manage the relationships with all the suppliers involved in the projects.
  • Oversee the customer services team.

Operational excellence

  • Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and success metrics
  • Hands on approach to daily performance monitoring and optimisation
  • Manage the security of the platforms.
  • Monitor stock levels, liaise with Commercial to strategise replenishment to ensure online stock levels.
  • Merchandise online offer.
  • Ensure that RRPs are used by the authorised online sellers.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse on operational matters.
  • Manage financial planning and preparation of budgets.
  • Control of expenses and validation of invoices.
  • Draft tenders, pitch and select suppliers.

Leadership and mentoring

  • Team Management & Succession Planning - have clear personal development plans for each team member to ensure growth, progression and succession planning within the team
  • Coach and mentor team members by setting daily and weekly goals.
  • Maintain and assist in the creation of an enjoyable and respectful work environment.

Any other tasks as required. 

Skills and Experience Required:

  • At least 10 years experience within e-commerce, ideally from a luxury brand background.  Must have had previous experience in a Head of Ecommerce/Digital role. 
  • Strong knowledge of digital trends and emerging/disruptive technologies.
  • Deep understanding of e-commerce and marketing technology to enable a quick impact on the e-commerce function.
  • Strong commercial acumen with strategic business perspective.
  • High degree of understanding and familiarity across all digital channels.
  • Expert knowledge of business principles such as marketing strategy, buying strategy, financial analysis, and supply chain oversight.
  • Strong experience of leadership, managing teams through periods of change and growth.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders across the business.
  • Strong and effective presentation and report-writing skills.
  • Able to build relationships and network easily, both internally and externally.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a strong, solution-based mindset.

High level of finesse and excellence required in delivery of all tasks.
