Role:

Keeping people safe on Depop requires both industry-leading policies and processes that allow us to enforce these policies. The Trust and Safety teams at Depop support our users through both direct support interactions as well as building scalable solutions to keep our community safe.

Therefore, we are looking for an experienced, intellectually curious and autonomous project manager to lead large and impactful projects across key safety areas for Depop.

To support our company-wide efforts to protect users every day we are seeking a resilient self-starter who is eager to learn, is passionate about protecting users, and is excited to build systems to support millions of people. We value people who can think strategically using macro-level insights, while still caring for micro-level cases affecting our community. We're looking for an intellectually curious and creative individual who is comfortable operating in ambiguity — a strategic thinker with strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an understanding of safety issues and the architecture and integration points of Depop’s community safety support processes, products and policies
  • Develop and lead end-to-end project plans with a focus on policy operations and ensure on-time delivery of critical initiatives
  • Develop and lead global projects, establish working team goals, and work with cross functional partners  on strategies for executing, measuring progress, and sharing results
  • Deliver projects involving quantitative analysis, industry research, and strategy development, working directly with global cross-functional teams and influencing high level strategy
  • Track and analyse key operational metrics to understand where to focus optimisation efforts
  • Partner with Engineering, Security, and Analytics to identify, influence, and execute our trust and safety roadmap
  • Build relationships with  cross-functional partners across policy to drive improvements
  • Provide real-time support, expertise and guidance during escalations as part of a broader XFN effort

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4+ years experience working in an Operations, Project Management, Analytics, Product, or equivalent team
  • 2+ years of experience initiating and autonomously driving highly complex and cross-functional projects to completion
  • Experience communicating to and influencing a variety of audiences
  • Strategic thinker with analytical and creative problem-solving skills Analytical and problem solving experience

Desirable:

  • Experience working in the technology sector or other relevant fast paced environments
  • Program Management skills certification: six sigma, Prince 2 
  • Experience in working within the Trust & Safety industry
  • Experience with process design, implementation, and improvement
  • Knowledge of data tools such as SQL, SAS and or data visualisation (e.g. Tableau) tools
