JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities, to include but not be limited to: 

  • Creating and developing initial design ideas for a signature loungewear and luxury t-shirt range.  Interpreting from main collection mood boards with a focus on fit and design detail.  Working collaboratively with other Designers to ensure consistency in handwriting across the collection.
  • To source fabrics with a luxe handwriting, maintaining commerciality for production and cost purposes.
  • To initiate, build and nurture factory relationships.
  • To implement collection sampling, including processing tech packs and liaising with suppliers to manage deadlines.
  • Following product from initial concept stage through the production process.  Being an integral part of the fitting process and liaising with production teams up until final product launch.
  • Working alongside PD and Production to build and adhere to critical path deadlines.
  • Alongside PR and Merchandising, manage costings and work product with margin expectations, with the ability to creatively problem solve to achieve creative Vs commercial balance.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Must have a creative and feminine handwriting.
  • Must have product development and production experience with the ability to lead this new product category.
  • Must bring good technical fabric knowledge and costings awareness.
  • Must bring strong previous factory relationships and contacts.
  • A sensitive eye for colour is essential.
  • Great technical knowledge with the ability to lead this new product category.
  • Excellent researching skills from varied resources, with an authentic design style.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of silhouette with good technical fit knowledge.
  • Good hand drawing skills and strong digital skills including illustrator and power-point to create technical specs and factory packs.
  • Excellent understanding of costings, necessary to achieve the most creative product with margin boundaries.
  • Established factory relationships and experience working directly with factories, including the Far East and Europe.
  • Naturally driven and able to manage own workload and timelines with keen attention to deadlines.
  • Organised and able to work in a calm manner, even when under pressure.  
  • Happy to work collaboratively within a small design team and have a polite manner with respectful communication skills.
  • Keen interest in all areas of the creative/ art world and able to draw inspiration from a range of aspects including exhibitions, shows, vintage markets etc.
