Job Details

PRIMARY ROLE

The Print Design Intern will maintain & organize the design area. Preparing the design room to be used for presentations. Preparing, updating, dropping in fabrics into Photoshop renderings of sketches for RTW and leather-goods. Assisting in the product design and development process. Helping to create and update the collection concept book each season in Adobe Indesign. Maintaining and updating digital folders. Assisting in creating new colorways and placements for prints. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: color work, material sourcing, model dressing, Photoshop placements, Illustrator technical packages, repairing/sewing samples & mockups.

This individual will bring knowledge of Adobe programs and organization skills to support team objectives. A successful candidate will be able to work independently as well as within a team environment. This is an opportunity for someone who is proactive and driven to learn in a growing luxury fashion brand.

Specific areas of responsibility will include:

  1. Color work & assisting in print artworks
  2. Preparing & updating digital colorup sketches for the collection (Photoshop)
  3. Creation of Collection Concept Book (Indesign)
  4. Material Sourcing

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Altuzarra offers college students an opportunity to be part of a small, dynamic and dedicated team. Our credit-based internships are designed to attract outstanding talent and provide hands-on exposure to our Design Department.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in trials for print and embroidery artworks
  • Pantone swatching and sending out color standards to mills
  • Preparing, updating, dropping in fabrics into Photoshop renderings of sketches for RTW
  • Maintaining and organizing the design area (boards, table, & closet)
  • Helping to create and update the collection concept book each season in Adobe Indesign
  • Material sourcing
  • Creating virtual boards through InDesign for presentations

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time university design program or related discipline
  • Currently possess or can receive a US Security Number before beginning internship
  • Knowledge of how to properly create seamless repeats and recolor artwork
  • Eligible to receive school credit
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign)
  • Strong sense of the Altuzarra aesthetic
  • Excellent portfolio; demonstration of original and creative work.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to multi-task and react to shifting priorities while adhering to deadlines. Attention to detail is essential
  • Excellent sense of color
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • English fluency
  • Must own a Mac computer with Adobe Creative Suite to work from home when needed
