Boy Smells: Director of Operations (Pico Union, Los Angeles)

Boy Smells is seeking a Director of Operations to drive the supply chain, distribution, and logistics across all operational touch points.  This important new role will report into the Co-Founders and CFO/COO and has tremendous growth potential within our rapidly-growing environment.

Key Focus:

• Nurture existing manufacturing networks and look to expand based on growth objectives, ensuring proper compliance to quality standards and brand values
• Develop and manage manufacturing timeline/schedule to effectively and efficiently deliver across stakeholder objectives
• Build raw materials strategy in order to seamlessly supper manufacturing timelines
• Build a “never out” strategy in order to ensure evergreen product is always available and turning at an appropriate week supply
• Qualify new manufacturing partners for all categories well in advance of launch, resulting successful and on time delivery
• Responsible for meeting costs and margin objectives, as well as partnering with finance to oversee use of funds, upcoming expenditures, long term strategies
• Be the internal champion for our 3PL, ERP, and other operational support systems.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop seasonal financial plans
• Be versed in domestic and international safety and regulation requirements for various home and fine fragrance, and beauty categories

Qualifications:

• We’re looking for someone with 5+ years in Operations for beauty, fashion, wellness (or other adjacent industries), with multi-category experience, has a bachelor’s degree, and is proficient with the following tools:
  • Excel and Google Sheets
  • Cloud based ERP systems
• Impeccable written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with various International geographies/suppliers
• Strong analytical skills with an extreme attention to detail
• Experience building global supply chain programs, including budgets, and calendar creation and adherence, management, and communication
• Organized with strong project management skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally
• Scrappy with strong problem solving ability, including metrics-driven thinking
• Experience and enthusiasm in working with the LGBTQ+ community is a plus
• Ability to travel as necessary
• Experience in early-stage start-ups is a plus
