The "Commercial Planning" Team is part of the Markets department, a cross-functional unit that connects all commercial functions to execute global strategies on a country level. We are responsible for planning, forecasting and monitoring the sales development of the Zalando shops and analyzing the impact of commercial levers on business performance. Further, we lead several business case developments across the organization and provide the analytical/financial support in P&L development for business cases. In doing so, our goal is to provide the organization with insights and suggestions for efficient business decision making.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Together with your team, you will lead the short- and long-term demand planning process for our Central European Markets (DACH). You will further manage the sales forecasting, business steering process and decision making process for your responsible countries.
  • You will analyze and report sales performance for Zalando, share your recommendation with the leadership team and drive changes on how to close the performance gap between markets.
  • You will work closely with the General Manager of Central Europe on long term strategy and ROI based investment decisions; act as the right hand of the General Manager and you will be crucial in sharing the strategy of the market
  • You will be the go-to person for analytical / finance / business questions with significant commercial impact on our business and derive actionable insights through in-depth analysis. You will also contribute, together with your team, automated data-driven approaches for analysis, forecasting, planning and steering
  • You will lead cross-functional projects, business case development in your markets and interact with Marketing, Operations, Pricing, Onsite Management and other functions on a daily level
  • You will lead and support a team of 3-5 through functional knowledge, coaching and mentoring

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • MBA or Master in economics, engineering, statistics, management or comparable qualification. You have gained 7+ years of work experience in consumer-oriented commercial, highly analytical leadership role
  • You are a strategic business thinker with impressive analytical skills. You have strong technical skills in Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of SQL is a plus
  • You possess exceptional people, stakeholder management and people leadership skills
  • You are able to translate customer needs and business opportunities into a sound business plan that yields results on both short-term and mid-term. You have an in-depth understanding of E-commerce and/or fashion industry
  • You are comfortable in a fast changing environment and always look for pragmatic and creative solution to change the game. You're also fluent in English.
