Senior Merchandiser

As Senior Merchandiser you will be responsible for overseeing the Own Label merchandising team.  Working closely with the product developers, marketing, you will be responsible for the strategy, planning and trading for the department.  You will be responsible for maximising profit, through sales planning, range building, forecasting, reviewing and balancing stock.

Responsibilities:

• Develop strong merchandising strategy to optimise growth and maximize sales opportunities
• Plan and manage the OTB to meet sales and margin targets
• Collaborate with the Buying team to create a competitive and profitable range plan
• Analyse and report product sales while tracking key market trends to identify new opportunities and suggest changes when needed.
• Create and monitor the WSSI to track internal KPIs and maintain control over stock levels, informing HOM of key opportunities and risks.
• Owning mark-down strategy for department.
• Regular review of department performance with HOM and marketing to maximise current commercial opportunities and to identify key learns to optimise profit on future ranges.
• Build out and manage the Own Label Merchandising team to support high growth phase of the business.
• Supplier relationship management, including negotiating new and existing terms
• Communicating issues and proposed actions from phasing and delivery intake to HOM.
• Presenting sales information in an informative and engaging way to various stakeholders across the business
• Relationship management across the business to ensure the Own Label team objectives are supported by other stakeholders
• Continually review processes; make recommendations for improvements.

 Skills needed:

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English
• Strong interest and passion for childrenswear.

 This role is based at our Head Office in Tunbridge Wells, however, due to the current Coronavirus pandemic will require flexibility and some working from home.
