RLG Europe B.V., Amsterdam, is home to Richemont regional functions and 8 Richemont brands that work to support retail and wholesale, marketing and communication for the BeNeLux and Scandinavian region. The offices also provide a platform for European E-commerce and a Customer Relations Centre.

Mandate of the job is to translate complex business transactions into accurate and compliant accounting, while explaining these to stakeholders in simple language. Not afraid to crunch numbers in SAP, execute a variety of operational tasks, and be our subject matter expert in retail back office accounting. Besides closing the books, your focus is on optimizing processes to free up time to work on new challenging projects.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?

The main responsibilities of the role will be to supervise and manage accurate and timely processing of various accounting functions as well as developing and maintaining robust accounting controls and processes within an omnichannel retail environment. This is a hands-on role and duties will include the preparation of compliance filing responsibilities, booking of journal entries, as well as the reconciliation and review of key account balances.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure complete and accurate accounting of our day to day operations in accordance with IFRS/GAAP standards with a strong focus on retail back office and e-commerce;
  • Be a collaborative partner across sales channels (boutiques and ecommerce) to ensure monthly accounting entries are complete, accurate, recorded timely and properly reconciled;
  • Gain commercial insights and develop an understanding of the business both strategically and operationally and apply that knowledge to our accounting practices;
  • As Richemont and its Maisons operate in an evolving landscape, drive process improvements and be a change agent to optimize our processes to increase our flexibility, speed, and value creation to our stakeholders;
  • Assess efficiency and effectiveness of our processes and present improvements;
  • Perform and evaluate the effectiveness of controls and processes and recommend improvements to safeguard a robust control environment;
  • Support and perform period close activities including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and analytical reviews with a strong focus on retail back office (i.e. daily boutique cash report and credit card reconciliations) and opportunities in other functional areas;
  • Support the monthly and annual financial closing process, external audits and any other ad-hoc projects.
  • Be our accounting representative in cross-functional project teams and drive success;
  • Drive self-improvement and continuous learning through coaching and feedback;


HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?
  • You demonstrate 5+ years audit / controlling proven track record in in a business finance function (not Corporate Finance) from major multinational company in fast moving consumer goods and/or luxury/fashion branded retailing
  • Min 2 -3 years financial services advisory & consulting background from Deloitte, Ernst & Young, PWC, etc. having proven track record in client engagements, financial project work, problem solving and communication
  • Strong business, commercial and financial acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to drive process improvements

Functional Skills:
  • Experienced in tax, financial accounting, financial analysis, treasury management
  • SAP (or similar ERP System)
  • Change Management and Stakeholder Management
  • Project Management

Language Skills:
  • Dutch
  • English fluent in spoken and written (advanced degree)
  • French would be an advantage
