POSITION OBJECTIVE:

This position is responsible for providing Human Resources leadership, guidance, and counsel to various levels of associates located in the Winder Distribution Center and Contact Centers. This includes direction in the handling of associate issues, employment actions, performance management and state and federal statutes. A primary function of this role is to protect and maintain Chico's FAS' union free status in the Distribution Center and Contact Centers. Proactively communicate Chico 's FAS' union free philosophy through education, communication and understanding of related issues and law and by addressing all issues towards the purpose of providing an issue free/union free environment. Responsible for investigating reasons for issues/concerns and partnering with leaders to resolve them.Provide excellent customer service by building partnerships and being responsive to the HR and AR concerns of both Winder Management and Associates. Work to address issues such Contact Center morale, skills training, hourly staffing, and meeting learning objectives. Partner with Sr Manager, Human Resources on management development, associate concerns, investigations and project management.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides generalist support including, associate relations, performance management, and talent assessment to an hourly and salaried associate population.
  • Provides guidance to management in the handling of associate relations issues; exercises care that reasons are well documented and are not arbitrary in nature. Coaches and consults with managers and associates on performance management issues and opportunities. Assists with development of constructive action plans, analyzes and process statistical results to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Implements union prevention initiatives.
  • Enables the successful implementation of HR strategy, products and services to business unit clients. Provides communication to the Distribution Center and Contact Center regarding HR initiatives as applicable. Actively contributes to the strategic planning process for the Contact Centers through integration of the HR perspective.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. Makes recommendations, provides solutions, and resolves issues as challenges arise.
  • Ensures activities are in compliance with all state and federal employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO, OFCCP, AA and FLSA).
  • Communicates to client groups regarding general HR initiatives.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of strategies and objectives, the competitive landscape, current and potential future business challenges for the Contact Center and Distribution Center.
  • ​Creates effective teams and partnerships with client groups to successfully accomplish objectives.
  • Responds to and documents associate issues reported through the Open Door and Ethics Hotline process. Investigates problems, allegations and complaints. According to the circumstances, provide guidance and recommendations for problem resolution to management.
  • Assures excellent associate relations practices in the Contact Center by ensuring associate problems/issues are resolved, using consistent communication methods, fair treatment and respect for all people and consistent application of Chico's policies and programs and SOP's. Protect and facilitate Chico's Open-Door policy.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred
    • 5-7 years recent experience in employee relations, preferably in a retail environment
    • Requires performance management, conflict resolution and team building experience
    • PHR, SPHR or related certification preferred
    • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
    • Must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with staff at all levels
    • Ability to rely on experience and judgment in order to make associate relations decisions
    • Strong computer skills
    • Ability to develop positive partnerships and influence at all levels of an organization
