Job Details

A new and exciting role has become available to join Sister Jane's management team.

This role, which reports directly to the CEO, will see the successful candidate manage the finance and accounting functions during a time of strong growth and transformation in the business.
This role is an extremely attractive role for an experienced and entrepreneurial qualified or part qualified accountant who is attracted to join a fast growing international team and play a key role in the development and growth of the business.

The main roles and responsibilities involved are:

1. Accounting and Reporting

  • Manage the transition from outsourced to in-house accounting functions for the business's three legal entities.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and ad hoc business performance analysis for the CEO.
  • Responsibility for all tax compliance, including VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax in two jurisdictions.
  • Monitoring of bank statements and oversee reconciliations.
  • Oversee of stock accounting and inventory valuations.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for shareholders
  • Liaise with external accountants to manage year-end accounts process

2. Business Process Improvement

  • Develop and document business operations and control processes to streamline operations and strengthen internal controls
  • Work closely with CEO to further streamline business and administration process through implementation of best in class processes and automations through implementation of ad hoc IT tools and applications
  • Manage relationships and implement solutions with payment service providers and banks
     

3.  Financial Administration and Compliance

  • Oversee general business compliance and business risk management  
  • Oversee HR compliance and procedures
  • Lead finance and business analytics involvement in ad-hoc projects
     

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities and qualifications:

  • A recognised accountancy qualification (such as ACA/ACCA/CIMA etc.) with ideally 2-3 years post qualifying experience in the UK
  • Relevant fashion industry or similar experience with intimate knowledge of stock accounting and international import/export preferable
  • Experience working within a multi-cultural and international team
  • Strong knowledge of Xero and its app ecosystem
  • A good understanding of IT processes and strong curiosity to find and implement new solutions
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to summarise and explain processes clearly and concisely
  • Excellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Well organised and effective person with good time management and prioritisation skills
  • Fluency in additional European languages is an advantage
  • A self-starter and motivated person, who can demonstrate initiative and able to work independently when needed  
  • Eager to take responsibilities and take initiative
