Job Details

Dora Larsen is seeking an enthusiastic, commercially minded, and proactive Production and Technical Manager. This role requires a candidate with knowledge and experience specific to lingerie and nightwear. The Production and Technical Manager will also take a lead in transitioning the brand towards more sustainable production.

In this role, you will oversee the production, technical and sustainability areas of the business, and work in close collaboration with the founder and designer. You will also be in charge of managing a more junior member of the production team.

The ideal candidate will be highly driven, have great attention to detail, and a luxury/premium perspective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage our suppliers in order to achieve deadlines and oversee the critical path.
  • Develop and manage our sustainability strategy, ensuring targets are met season on season.
  • Manage supply chain traceability, ensuring suppliers are meeting ethical and environmental expectations.
  • Oversee supplier relationships to ensure all suppliers meet and maintain delivery, quality and margin expectations. Communicate with them regularly to clarify all priorities and technical details.
  • Constantly review and implement new processes and structures to improve organization, communication, and effectiveness.
  • Ensure that costing and margin targets are met across the department each season.
  • Perform ongoing assessment of existing supplier base and sourcing of new suppliers.
  • Set quality standards for suppliers and internal quality standards.
  • Lead fit sessions, acting as garment tech, ensuring all fit comments are accurate and clear, as well as checking measurements on fit logs and grading charts.
  • Manage bulk production from order placement to delivery including fabrics, trims, packaging, testing and QC reports.
  • Working closely with Finance on margin, cashflow and budget optimisation.
  • Managing and developing a junior member of staff.

Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in lingerie and nightwear production roles.
  • Excellent lingerie and nightwear fit and technical knowledge and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of lingerie and nightwear manufacturers.
  • Ideally, you will have first-hand experience working for a small luxury brand, with an understanding of how working for a start-up requires a hands-on and flexible approach.
  • Successful product management skills and understanding of product cycle and timelines.
  • Accountability and ownership of challenges and the ability to follow through.
  • Creative problem solver with an analytical and methodical approach to tasks
  • Familiar with analysis, numbers and managing costing and margin processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office - particularly Excel.
  • First-hand experience in managing people in an operational environment.
  • Able to drive process improvements and create regular and ad hoc reports

Company

Dora Larsen was created by ex-lingerie buyer, Georgia Larsen, from her south-east London flat in 2016. Tired of buying fashionable bras that felt uncomfortable, Georgia decided to combine her technical expertise with her love of design, and set up her own lingerie brand. She took fit as her starting point, and colour as her inspiration. The result was a curated collection of contemporary designed lingerie.

Georgia now runs the brand alongside her husband Jake and their small team in Bermondsey, London.

Each collection features subtly created, bespoke colours. Colour can be soothing, amusing, rebellious or uplifting. The magic lies in how the colours are combined.
