Within this maternity cover, you will lead, inspire and take accountability for all planning activities across your department within EMEIA. You will lead by example, acting as an ambassador for Burberry, fostering a culture of collaboration, simplification, innovation and driving excellence across the Mainline and Digital channels to meet all set targets. JOB PURPOSE
Within this maternity cover, you will lead, inspire and take accountability for all planning activities across your department within EMEIA. You will lead by example, acting as an ambassador for Burberry, fostering a culture of collaboration, simplification, innovation and driving excellence across the Mainline and Digital channels to meet all set targets. You will also be accountable for;
- Managing and trading the Regional OTB, to meet retail sales budgets whilst adhering within set inventory targets.
- Proposing and leading strategic inventory management decisions and maximising opportunities with available inventory in both Mainline and Digital channels.
- Defining and recommending the commercial principles for all channels, both FP and MD.
- Accurately forecasting and communicating opportunities and risks through the seasonal planning and in-season trading processes; top line by division, by planning/ category levels and also line level for key business drivers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Regional Open to Buy and Inventory Management
- Responsible for multiple sub planning levels/ categories, which combined, make up the overall division.
- Partner cross-functionally with the Finance team to align annual sales budgets and quarterly forecasts for Mainline and Digital channels.
- Oversee the development of seasonal sales and procurement plans for both fashion and replenishment products.
- Guide and propose regional seasonal plans for fashion products (for Mainline & Digital channels), including: retail sales, units, AUR and AUC, inventory (units and value), to define associated OTB and ST targets.
- Work with Regional Merchandising team to propose seasonal range and assortment plans/ strategies
- Forecast and review regional monthly sales and intake plans for replenishment products at line level (for Mainline & Digital channels).
- Drive weekly in-season analysis, leveraging insights and proposing trade actions to maximise commercial opportunities.
- Partner cross-functionally with Regional Merchandising team to propose repeat buys and managing non-productive lines.
- Develop and guide regional markdown plans, in accordance with global guidelines & directions.
- Partner with Outlet team to drive productivity of overall inventory
- Work with Wholesale team to maximise sales opportunities and align key product strategies
Team Leadership
- Lead a team of Planning professionals, communicating strategic objectives for the division and providing day to day direction and guidance
- Create opportunities for talent development across Burberry's global planning organisation
- Manage, develop and elevate direct reports to drive business growth and create a best in class planning team
- Actively engage in coaching and mentoring activities, driving personal and professional development
- Managing a team of 2 planners
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Experience leading a planning team in a fast-paced commercial environment
- Leadership skills: inspiring, energising and instilling a culture of innovation, collaboration and accountability
- Excellence across all aspects of retail planning, including financial/commercial planning, inventory management and Open to Buy management
- Creative, innovative and customer-oriented when faced with business challenges
- Solid decision-making capability driven by developing strategic product and business initiatives
- Expert communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with credibility across all levels of the organisation
- Dynamic and collaborative style, able to build positive working relationships with cross-functional teams and translate strategic direction into day to day direction for outlet planning teams
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Experience with SAP would be advantageous
