Product Development Manager, Jewelry

JOB SUMMARY

This role will partner with our NY Product Development team and China Quality Assurance team to drive the Product Development process for jewelry.

JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support NY PD team to evaluate development specs and call out potential issues
• Liaises with suppliers on development and tracks and monitors sampling process
• Partner with NY PD team, China QA team, and suppliers to anticipate, prevent, and resolve quality, material, and construction issues
• Assist in sourcing components and support advanced development
• Review and evaluate samples at Proto, SMS, and PP sample stages to ensure execution is in line with design specifications, in addition to providing technical and construction guidance
• Help resolve costing challenges
• Support data entry into PLM system
• Build and maintain a strong level of communication with NY PD team on vendor performance/strategy
• Support sourcing of new suppliers
• Conduct evaluations on (potential) vendors, report on capabilities/specialties, and provide guidance on suitability to meet Tory Burch standards
• PP approvals for styles with simple/minor changes

EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED

• Minimum of 7 years of proven jewelry experience at managerial level and at similar brand level
• Hands on experience working with jewelry factories/vendors, preferably in Southern China region

• Deep knowledge jewelry techniques, materials, and quality
• Strong sense of global standards for luxury goods
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Results oriented, self-motivated, dedicated, enthusiastic, and energetic
• Strong problem solving, negotiation, planning, and organizational skills
• Committed to continuous learning and training
• Fluent in English and Mandarin, Cantonese is a plus
• Frequent travel is required
