Richemont - Legal Counsel/ Assistant Company Secretary

How will you make an impact?
  • To review, draft and negotiate contractual agreements/arrangements in respect of a wide range of general commercial matters to include: NDAs, manufacturing and supply, distribution, consultancy/service agreements, standard terms & conditions, competitions & promotions, advertising & marketing, e-commerce/online, data protection, software/IT licencing, SaaS, consumer law, wholesale & retail issues, regulatory compliance, anti-trust, dispute resolution etc.
  • To assist with UK and international compliance and corporate governance issues eg Bribery Act, Modern Slavery Act, and other regulatory issues including product compliance, advertising compliance, etc.
  • To assist and/or manage contentious matters including disputes with consumers, third party suppliers, distributors, insolvency risks, stock and debt recovery etc.
  • To assist the UK Company Secretary with maintenance of the Diligent (formerly Blueprint OneWorld) company database.
  • To maintain statutory documents, minute books and company registers for the UK Group (30 entities).


How will you experience success with us?
The ideal candidate will have a strong general commercial background, ideally from the in-house retail sector, and experience in global wholesale, distribution, ecommerce and digital matters. They will be a 'self-starter' with the desire and ability to be pro-active and flexible and adapt their skills to work on a very broad range of different matters. Strong drafting and inter-personal skills are essential.

We are seeking the right person to provide good quality legal advice delivered in a pragmatic and commercial manner; it is key that we find a team player who is prepared to undertake both tasks which stretch the candidate and tasks which may be less demanding but are nevertheless important to providing the service required from the legal department.

How do we keep you smiling?
You will join Richemont's well-established UK commercial team, comprising two other lawyers and a team secretary. The work encompasses a broad range of commercial legal advice for Richemont Group in the UK directly supporting the Group's UK-based Brands Alfred Dunhill, James Purdey & Sons, Peter Millar UK, Watchfinder and Laureus World Sports Awards in terms of their global legal affairs.
