Manager, Cloud Platforms (FTC)

JOB PURPOSE

The primary purpose for this role is to drive and support the definition of a Cloud strategy and operating model, as well as to define the current and target state services and products offered by the Cloud Operations function. The role also involves operational management and ensuring the necessary IT Cloud Platforms are available and performing to the right standards to enable core business systems to operate. Working alongside ICS leaders to optimise, automate and embed core platform capabilities in day to day running of the organisation, alongside maintaining service and security standards.

As a global team, this role will also influence the longer-term technical architecture and strategy for Platform adoption and driving DevOps capability across all IT Towers. Working in harmony to anticipate and deliver services ahead of demand, a successful outcome is embedding the platform service catalogue in delivery teams for them to consume on demand.

*This is a temporary role on a 12 month fixed term contract.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accountability for defining and delivering the Cloud Platform Service Catalogue and ensuring capability demand is proactively identified, delivered on time and self-serve consumable.
• As leader of the team, prioritising incoming work and managing stakeholder expectations
• With a keen eye for risk, drive a reducing profile that treats service, security and strategic risk within the platforms supported.
• Key stakeholder for projects to define and implement the Platform strategy and roadmap
• With a passion for operational efficiency, standards and automation, lead the approach to embed new ways of working within the delivery lifecycle.
• Ensuring the right blend of resourcing, whether it be internal, flex or partner, is available to support the total IT Cloud Portfolio.
• Work with wider IT Towers to drive automation and process excellence
• Working across multiple delivery lifecycles, ensure that core platform requirements are embedded in change projects and initiatives.
• Reporting and optimising Cloud IT spend
• Engaging and directing any 'Proof of Concept' or prototyping of applications and solutions.
• Identify and embed a strong performance management ethos, with the necessary performance dashboarding and reporting for users and business stakeholders.

PERSONAL PROFILE

• Managing Cloud Ops, Devops or similar Cloud centric teams;
• Previous experience of operating within a global retail organisation;
• Technical Experience across Cloud Ops and development tooling;
• Experience of continuous delivery approaches;
• Shaping technical roadmaps and service improvement activity;
• IT Experience - Leadership role across multiple disciplines and industries;
• Delivery Methodology - Experience of working across Waterfall to Agile;
• Ability to communicate with and influence senior stakeholders.
