JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of the role is to lead project team to reduce the manufacturing costs of core heritage products through manufacturing simplification and standardisation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead project team in developing robust project plan to effectively assess current challenges, identify opportunities for improvement and implement sustainable changes to production methods and team, including pilot and test initiatives as required;
  • Manage small project team of Industrial Engineer, Training Instructor and joint accountability for Maintenance Engineer;
  • Validate key Heritage product attributes with HFH Product teams to agree Customer value within the product, related to SMV cost of method;
  • Support development of training roll-out plan to production team to ensure the consistency across full factory. Ensure effective training of other supporting staff (i.e. Performance improvement coach/ Training instructors/ other production staff) on new techniques and GSD;
  • Ensure the agreed collation and sharing of routine and ad-hoc reporting of efficiency / down time and other management reports;
  • Coordinate with STLs, PI and TI to ensure the skill matrices are accurate;
  • Co-ordinate with methods manager in industrialisation team to ensure latest verified SMVs are used for costing purposes;
  • Attend pre-production meetings and work with industrialisation team to make sure the method specified in tech-pack is applied in bulk production;
  • Feed information to planning dept to set targets and output sheduling.


PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Extensive experience in clothing manufacturing and/or other related labour intensive industry;
  • Knowledge of production techniques and testing standards within the Apparel industry;
  • Experience of leading technical developments;
  • Global knowledge of suppliers and vendors;
  • Strong knowledge of raw materials;
  • Demonstrated project management skills with strong leadership experience;
  • Must have extensive quality improvement experience in Apparel;
  • Highly motivated with a can-do attitude;
  • Great communicator, able to develop strong relationships across levels and functions;
  • IMS - Diploma in Management services or BSc. Industrial Engineering and
  • GSD - Certification (preferred);
  • MS Excel.
