Job Details

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Security Manager to head up the Security function at Dover Street Market including management of the outsourced security company and their guards. The ideal candidate will have proven experience of creating a safe, secure and well managed store environment ideally within the luxury retail space. This role is responsible for proactively identifying ways to reduce stock loss and implement relevant strategies and solutions for the team of guards as well as staff within the store to ensure optimal security and safety processes are met whilst also being mindful of supporting Dover Street Market’s exceptional levels of customer service standards. This role will also support with Facilities management duties as required.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Store Security

  • Partnering closely and working as a true right hand to the VP
  • Thorough understanding of all departmental priorities and those of the VP and using this to proactively manage the diary, requests and workload.
  • To act firmly and decisively, with charm and empathy, in managing both the VP's agenda and meeting schedules and to take decisions accordingly, while prioritizing the needs of both the VP and the business.
  • Extensive diary and agenda management
  • Ensuring the VP is fully prepared for each meeting, providing background information and previous meeting notes for all internal and external meetings.
  • Proactively support the VP with meetings with the Leadership Team and Town Halls.
  • Build strong relationships across the stakeholder group. 
  • Project management: To coordinate and/or lead ad hoc projects, as requested by the VP. 
  • Office management, overseeing all front of house, managing reception team, organising stationary/ health and safety
  • Extensive travel bookings for VP.
  • Senior new starter induction planning and organisation.
  • Processing expenses for VP in line with Company policy. 
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Event organising.
  • Safeguard company assets, employees and visitors
  • Maintain a positive and professional image of the security department and ensure they are all reflective of the high standards within Dover Street Market
  • Management of the outsourced security team
  • Lead, supervise and manage contracted security team aligned with organization standards and expectations
  • Maintain and continually improve upon current standards and processes
  • Collect and analyse security data to determine inventory loss and implement loss prevention solution and strategy
  • Identify and investigate security breaches. Conduct bi-annual security audit to identify potential problems related to store security, staff safety or asset protection and present plan, ideas or solutions to the store Director for review and sign-off.
  • Plan security needs for special events
  • Conduct security meetings
  • Responsible for the security team rota, time sheets accuracy and adequate scheduling managing hours and costs
  • Ensure all incidents reports are duly completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure all security officers are correctly presented with required specifications
  • Allocate radios to all security officers and shop floors – test radios, relevant codes and locations
  • Monitor and regularly review CCTV system standards and propose improvements

Facilities Support

  • Ad-hoc management of all building maintenance, security systems and 3rd party contractors; support to Facilities Manager
  • Responsible for check of all fire exits and removal of obstructions
  • Check all fire extinguishers are in the correct location
  • Daily visual checks of fire exits, fire doors and extinguishers, maintaining consistency and reporting issues
  • Monitoring staff room standards
  • Accident and hazard reporting
  • Responsible for CCTV rota, recordings, liaising with Police, keeping data secured and stored appropriately

Training and Development

  • Ensure that all new Security Officers are introduced to all members of staff including management, explain roles and responsibilities, rules and regulations – conducting relevant security team staff induction and trainings as required
  • Support in creating, implementing and monitoring robust security standards and procedures
  • Train security team on organizational policies and procedures
  • Train and induct security staff on fire procedures and risk assessment
  • Educate store personnel up to required standards and trends on security subjects
  • Drive towards personal and professional improvement

Skills

  • Trouble-shooting skills to deal with ad-hoc issues and proactively preventing any matters within store security and security team
  • Have a range of competencies in the fields of loss prevention
  • Have experience in recruitment, people management and development
  • Maintain a professional relationship with all employees, managers, customers and 3rd party contractors

Knowledge

  • Proven experience of Security management within the luxury retail space
  • Proven security awareness and knowledge
  • Kept fully up to date with local relevant security matters
  • Continually researching and enhancing knowledge and skills within the field of retail security as part of continuing professional development
