Job Details

The Lead HR Business Partner supporting the Vice President Logistics works in close partnership with the business leaders of the Logistic business and the senior leadership team to develop and execute the HR strategy and roadmap supporting the growth and health of the 7,500-person organization. The P&O Lead will build an organization and culture that facilitates long-term business scale through the acquisition, development and retention of talent and the use/adoption of technologies in the delivery of our service. Finally, the person in this role will be responsible for ongoing HR improvements to ensure we provide the best associate experience, while providing critical leadership and coaching to business leaders.

Starting from manufacturing, logistics, transportation, payments, supply & demand management, customer-relationship management, size & fit, to applications in digital experiences such as search, recommendation and browse, in particular focusing on whole outfits. Furthermore your responsibility covers the area of Information Security whose mission is to improve Zalando's security posture and build trust with our customers. Overall this role oversees around 400-500 talents.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Define and deliver the people strategy roadmap for Logistics (together with your team of two Business Partners reporting to you), providing regular updates including the people element of the quarterly business reviews as well as strategy documents
  • Ability to deliver results with little supervision in a dynamic and often ambiguous environment
  • Proven effective consulting skills, with an ability to influence in all directions
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively coach managers and supervisors
  • Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem solving skills, critical thinking, and willingness to be vocally self-critical
  • Proactively initiate and lead P&O projects working cross functionally to leverage resources & best practices to foster a business culture which champions our values and continues to improve the level of diversity and inclusivity
  • Design and deliver organisational changes e.g. driving organizational design topics, supporting & enabling leaders to own and drive change
  • Work with Talent Acquisition to recruit senior leaders (Head of+) into the Logistic management to continue to drive the bar in leadership capability and diversity
  • Partner with the Logistic VP to continue to improve their engagement survey results across Logistics, to engage, retain and attract top talent
  • Be a thought partner to senior leaders by providing inspiration and coaching to support their leadership effectiveness and building a great senior leadership team
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • A minimum of 5+ years professional experience in HR business partnering, ideally in an international, large, fast pace, dynamic organisation
  • 2+ years experience in a people leadership role (2-5 direct reports); demonstrated experience in managing and developing a team
  • Strong capabilities in the fields of organizational development, process improvement, talent management, talent recruitment, stakeholder management and solutions development
  • Demonstrated experience assessing organizations and partnering with business leaders to build plans to address identified issues
  • Experience with assessing and developing HR talent internationally
  • Demonstrated experience working as a strategic HR business leader, including partnering with leaders and engaging with the broader organization
  • Knowledge of the German labor law and works council
  • Analytical thinking and using data insights proficiently
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills are essential and a commitment to develop and earn the trust of others
