ART DIRECTOR

 

We are looking for a new Art Director to join La DoubleJ team in Milano. The person we’re looking for is a strong creative thinker with a passion for guiding brand storytelling and the visual narrative to ensure alignment across all platforms and touch points. She/He has experience overseeing all art direction/design elements of a fashion/lifestyle business, including photoshoots (RTW and homeware), digital/social content (still and video), packaging, and retail and wholesale displays. She or he will oversee the day-to-day development and execution of all visual branded communications.

 

This is a "hands on" role with significant oversight of image making and design; the ideal candidate will have both an intuitive understanding of the Founders' creative vision and a keen sense of detail and organization. The ideal candidate will have strong on-set and photo editing experience, as well as a strong knowledge of design and typography. She or he will find and manage outside creative collaborators while also managing budgets and schedules for all creative initiatives, working alongside a team of graphic design and production peers, to ensure best practices and brand cohesion for large and small scale projects. 

 

The new Art Director will report to the co-founder(s)/CEO and work cross-functionally to ensure La Double J maintains both a sense of consistency and spontaneity in all of its visual expressions. A passion for pattern, color, and vibrant design is a must.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee the look and feel of the brand across all platforms and initiatives, focused on the following to start: Ecomm/Digital/Social; Content; Retail/Showroom/Pop-Ups; PR assets (still and video).
  • Drive the brand's mission to create feel-good fashion and a high vibration lifestyle by delivering creative work that is unique to La Double J and that garners engagement in the marketplace.
  • Lead all initiatives requiring art direction; guiding and approving all assets needed for marketing efforts, concepting lookbooks, attending all photo shoots, overseeing showroom and retail installations, approving the production of packaging and other printed materials.
  • Develop new, irreverent, and forward-thinking concepts for La Double J branding, campaigns, and marketing messages (still and video)
  • Have strong Adobe Suite skills (inDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Bridge, etc.).
  • Possess strong understanding of how to use e-commerce/DTC, social media, and the latest technology to drive consumer engagement and be disruptive online and off.
  • Manage diverse scope of deliverables in a fast-paced environment, inspiring others through teamwork, fresh ideation, and constant collaboration.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • +8 years of successful experience as an Art Director in a fashion or lifestyle-oriented business
  • Art/Design/Fine Arts background; previous experience of working in an e-commerce company is a plus
  • Proven leadership skills and a talent for providing effective feedback and direction
  • Proven excellent presentation and communication skills, and ability to work and interact with internal and external stakeholders
  • Up-to-date on the latest trends in the fashion and lifestyle trends
  • Excellent organizational skills; able to prioritize and multi-task various and challenging demands.
  • Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills
  • Excellent English skills (Mother tongue or Bilingual); fluent in Italian.
