Art Director

The Art Director for MZ Wallace will be responsible for leading the creation of MZ Wallace’s cross-platform visual content. They will be an integral member of a close-knit team, a leader with big-picture ideas and a no-job-to-small attitude. The Art Director will work collaboratively MZ Wallace’s cofounders, as well as with the marketing and creative teams to refine MZ Wallace’s branding and create insight-driven content that connects to consumer values. This role reports to the Director of Marketing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to concept, art direct, and oversee company-wide content creation to support business and marketing objectives
• Work closely with company cofounders and Director of Marketing to set strategic objectives for best-in-class creative and branding
• Concept, art direct and oversee all company photography, production, styling, retouching and delivery
• Lead the team in the timely creation and delivery of assets across all channels, including email and social, digital ads, e-commerce assets and site content, packaging, and visual merchandising
• Liaise with the marketing team to understand and integrate data-driven feedback to optimize content performance
• Attend, oversee and support production of photography and video content
• Brainstorm and contribute innovative ways to engage with and grow the brand audience
• Translate marketing and e-commerce initiatives for digital communication across all platforms into visual content that is clear, compelling, visually exciting, and easy to understand
• Design and execute on a scalable video content strategy, helping us reach new audiences and bring content to life

Qualifications

• 2+ years serving a DTC brand as art director
• Desire to work collaboratively to achieve best-possible results
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable presenting concepts and visuals to groups
• Ability to comfortably receive and integrate feedback throughout process
• Must have a portfolio demonstrating relevant experience
• Knowledge of social and digital content platform best practices, new technologies, and creative standards
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of UX/UI
• Graphic design and video production experience
• Ability to thrive, project manage and deliver in a fast-paced environment
• Relationships with freelance photographers, videographers, stylists and retouchers a plus
