JOB PURPOSE

The Retail IT Technical Specialist will provide administration, project & production support of Burberry Retail IT systems (POS, payment & peripherals). The Retail IT Technical Specialist will ensure the availability, performance and integrity of Retail IT systems by proactively planning for changes and capacity as well as reactively addressing system and security incidents and problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with Security, you will help to diagnose and resolve Security-related incidents and take part in Security investigations.
  • You will manage Patches and Vulnerabilities of the Global POS estate, ensuring they are up to date and secure.
  • Ensure all technical deliverables are produced to a high quality, providing appropriate feedback as necessary.
  • Work with project managers to provide technical support for project delivery where required, including POS & other system cut-overs out of hours.
  • Engage and manage all key stakeholders, central and regional, to ensure solution delivered meets end user expectations.
  • Evolve ways of working to continually improve what, how, when, who.
  • Contribute to the E2E estimating model providing quality technical estimates, feeding into the resource plan.
  • Collaborate with the service desk and other support teams to identify, prioritise, and resolve incidents.
  • Support the resolution of Problems, supporting the technical teams and external suppliers, ensuring the high quality that a retail business demands.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for in-scope technologies as needed by the team and/or projects.
  • Document all tasks undertaken including reoccurring issues and processes.
  • Take ownership of issues reported and seeing problems through to resolution.
  • Research, diagnose, troubleshoot and identify solutions to resolve system issues.
  • Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate teams.
  • Research and identify solutions to software and hardware issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date technological knowledge to enable the constant improvement of systems, tools, processes and procedures.
  • Assist in the evaluation of application and system software packages.


PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Ideally experience supporting global retail organisations and technologies.
  • Significant experience supporting Windows Infrastructure (Desktop/Server).
  • Some experience with SCCM (Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager) - Including Task Sequences and Software Packaging.
  • Group Policy Management experience.
  • Scripting (Batch, PowerShell).
  • Windows platforms (Active directory, Group Policy, File Shares, SCCM, etc.).
  • Database (SQL).
  • Data Analysis.


Desirable Skills (but not required):
  • ITIL Certification.
  • Microsoft Certification (MCSA or equivalent).
  • Comp TIA Network+ Certification or relevant networking experience.
  • Microsoft Deployment ToolKit
  • Oracle xStore POS systems;
  • Xstore, Xenvironment, Xadmin.
  • Public SSL Certificates.
  • Knowledge of ISO 27000 series of standards, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Critical Security Controls.
  • Experience with Security Hardening of Windows Builds (CIS Benchmarks or above).
  • A recognised security qualification is preferred (CISSP, CISA, CISM, LA).
  • Ability to prioritise incidents, problems, escalate to service owners or third party providers, manage stakeholders, and minimise disruption on business or IT operations in a short time frame.
  • Willing to travel where required.
