Job Details

We are looking for a passionate, highly motivated, talented and driven individual with a good understanding of Accountancy to join our team.

The role is varied and will be responsible for the Accounts Receivable function ensuring all processes are streamlined and all month-end deadlines are adhered to.

This role will also manage the day to day operations of the outsourced Accounts Payable function (2 people) while setting up the payments as part of their weekly schedule. The ideal candidate will have owned the accounts payable function for over 2 years in their previous role and also understand the intricacies of retail sales reconciliations.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reconciliation of all sales and receivables for the store and e-shop
  • Main point of contact with the store for takings reconciliations
  • Reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts and all discrepancies must be resolved
  • Liaise with merchant services and Premier Tax Free
  • Organise and manage the work of the outsourced accounts payable function
  • Daily cashbook update
  • Bank posting of GBP, EUR, USD, JPY accounts
  • Create and process Purchase Orders
  • Prepare and prioritise weekly payment run
  • Run weekly creditors with commentary
  • Stock in transit and Goods Received Not Invoiced reconciliation
  • File monthly Intrastat returns
  • Deal with supplier queries and be the main contact
  • Reconcile C79

 

The Ideal Candidate

Skills:

  • Double entry book keeping
  • 2 years plus Purchase ledger experience
  • Accounts Receivable & Sales reconciliation
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge
  • Experience in working with Sage X3 ERP and Retail Pro (not essential)
  • Retail and e-commerce background
  • Working towards ACCA, CIMA or AAT

  • Willingness to work hard and to drive the business forward
  • Pay great attention to detail and have an inquisitive mind to resolve daily issues
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines within a team environment
  • Must be highly organised, dedicated and able to prioritise tasks
  • Strong communicator and team player
