Support the most exciting and fastest-growing global sports brand with the own retail store operations and expansion. In this position, you will be among the first hires of the Global Retail Team and On will rely on you to lead the merchandising and sales planning for all global flagship stores.

You will combine available future product assortments with customer preferences and consumer trends by region, sales floor and stock room capacity and planned brand initiatives, to come up with the most appropriate assortment for each of our own stores globally.

Your Mission:

  • Leading up to a new season, you will:
    • Start to define for each own store which product selection (across all shoes, apparel and accessories) should be carried over the upcoming season. This task will include:
      • Develop your vision and proposal for how each flagship store should be merchandised in the future season
      • Build into your plan how the range evolves over the course of that season, incl. weather (seasonality) adjustments and future product and limited edition drops
      • Hold cross-functional “own store buying” workshops to align on your proposals and purchase decisions so it makes sense from both a global and regional brand level
      • Work with local store teams to understand capacity constraints in the store and tailor the range and total required units accordingly
    • Work closely with the own retail visual merchandising team to ensure the planned range for each store can actually be visually displayed in a nice way
    • Work with DTC demand planning to ensure the sales plan down to an SKU level by store is translated properly into the systems and orders are placed accordingly
  • Throughout the ongoing season, you will:
    • Monitor sell-out and stock levels per store and make assortment adjustment proposals based on observed data (sellout data, heat maps, E-Com sales data, etc.)
    • Understand store profitability and how to maximize it through an accurate product assortment available at the store, whilst trying to minimize overstock at the end of the season
    • Develop a deep understanding of the target customers for each own store and how to provide the best product mix available at all times to inform future range decisions

Your Story:

  • 4-5 years of experience in a retail buyer role, preferably in the fashion, outdoor or sports industry.
  • Strong analytical sales planning skills - ability to conduct data analysis and build an SKU sales forecasting model by store in Excel
  • Interest and understanding of consumer and fashion trends to build exciting merchandising plans
  • Bachelor in Economics, Math, Statistics or any related science
