ABOUT THE ROLE
As the head of merchandise planning you lead a high performing and passionate team that creates a lasting positive impact. You directly contribute to the success of category management by defining and delivering the financial strategy for your category as well as shaping the overall strategy.

We are recruiting for one position in our Specialties category, responsible for Sports.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Lead your team (around 20 people across different levels) to create seasonal financial plans and build strategies to deliver this for the category reflecting the long term strategy and financial plan you define alongside your Buying counterpart(s).
  • Guide your team to identify risks and opportunities to ensure the business is steered to reach the defined targets each season
  • Seek out areas of improvement within the organisation and collaborate with others to implement solutions that deliver our customers promises, inspiring others to do the same.
  • As a leader you inspire your organisation and play a significant role in the entire Merchandising job family
  • Empower your direct reports to create excellence in analytical thinking & commercial acumen in the merchandise planning team
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • A Senior Business leader operating already at Head or Director level, with experience of managing multiple complex categories of significant revenue focused on merchandise planning or a commercially facing analytical role, ideally in an Ecommerce retailer with fashion products.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience managing strategy and leading large teams. A dynamic leader with the ability to ensure your team remains motivated and engaged with the structure you provide in a very dynamic and fast-paced environment. The experience to lead others to drive innovative solutions that deliver lasting positive impact. Experience of managing a large team across multiple business levels.
  • Multiple experiences of leading the roll out of new initiatives, processes and/or tools across cross-functional business areas, leading others outside your reporting line to execute these.
  • Excellent business acumen combined with analytical skills and the ability clearly communicate priorities to your team and business stakeholders, with the capability developing these talents in others
