Primary Purpose:
Reporting to the VP, HR Europe & Global HR Operations, the Director, Europe Payroll & Total Rewards will oversee the complete payroll function for Europe and provide support in all aspects of Rewards to the business. They will lead and develop a team of twoto support the Payroll and Rewards function, and drive improvements in the overall payroll process.
The successful individual will leverage their proficiency to:
- Assume full responsibility for European Payroll & Total Rewards and be accountable to the Vice President, HR Europe & Global HR Operations. For Total Rewards matters, there will also be an accountability to the Vice President, Global Rewards
- Partner with the business and finance on field sales incentives i.e. variable pay and sales incentive governance: strategy, design, competitiveness, etc. Advise on requirements, cost-analysis, project management set-up and roll out, and keep up to date with European legislation changes
- Lead local HR business partners to deliver year end process
- Ensure the correct evaluation and leveling of jobs in partnership with the Vice President, HR Europe & Global HR Operations and Global Total Rewards team
- Lead benefit renewal process, budgeting and planning for each country; liaising with benefit vendors and internal partners to resolve eligibility and escalated benefits cases
- Responsible for plan communication and ensuring employees understand and leverage benefits appropriately for their wellbeing. Manage attractive and relevant communication to employees to answer queries on plans and keep documents and FAQs up-to-date
- Own the administration of the UK pension scheme and monitor pension regulation updates, as required
- Support company Wellness initiatives
- Participate in Corporate-wide projects with local application
- Partner with HR Business Partners and Global Leaders/Managers on rewards topics with broadest impact and shareholder return
- Help ensure reward programs and tools attract, retain and motivate great talent and are in line with corporate inclusivity & diversity goals
- Partner with Finance to ensure timely reporting on all required areas
Lead the Europe payroll team to:
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with agreed authorisation procedures prior to submission to external vendors
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll operations by ensuring that general and payroll specific security procedures are observed by the team
- Comply with all relevant Company accounting, payroll and Global Rewards procedures
- Regularly evaluate working methods and procedures, making recommendations to improve the efficiency of the payroll department
- Process manual payments accurately where necessary, whilst minimising the requirement to make such payments
- Monitor the accuracy of payroll documentation received by the team on an on-going basis (e.g. input forms, deduction notices, SSP/SMP notifications), identifying potential problems and taking remedial actions where necessary
- Complete the reconciliation of weekly and monthly payrolls, inland revenue and other external body payments and submit to the Finance Department
- Partner with the Finance Department to complete year end procedures and payments, in an accurate and timely fashion, including final amendments
- Ensure all external statutory forms are completed correctly and in a timely manner
- Liaise with the Inland Revenue, DSS and other statutory bodies on procedural and legislative requirements and ensure compliance
- Support, monitor and track information ahead of HMRC compliance requirements, while working with other HR team members to obtain the required information.  Support with maintenance of HR SOX Compliance where applicable
- Create business requirement documents for the processes they support. Develop and maintain process flow charts
