The Safety Specialist supports the Health & Safety team with day-to-day oversight of teams within a warehouse or retail store location.  You have a passion to keep people safe and know how to influence the behavior of others.  You know that how you provide feedback is just as important as the feedback itself.  You are self-motivated, able to work independently and have a keen eye for detail.  You understand how the work you perform locally impacts the larger organization, and you are willing to speak up when you see an issue. 

What You Get To Do Every Day
  • Promote a consistent safety culture throughout the store/warehouse through coaching, feedback and corrective actions
  • Participate in employee and guest accident investigations utilizing root cause analysis, identifying hazards, and implementing solutions to address safety risks
  • Conduct multiple daily, weekly and monthly safety inspections and partner with cross-functional team members to ensure the appropriate corrective actions are taken
  • Administer health & safety training as appropriate to establish, support and communicate company-wide and site-specific safety initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of company-wide safety initiatives
  • Drive location compliance with TRR's COVID Health & Safety Policy which includes coordinating and enforcing social distancing requirements, ensuring compliance with the corporate mask policy and oversee/drive targeted to prevent the spread of COVID-19
  • Partner with the local Loss Prevention Team to conduct COVID contact tracing, assist with the screening process for employees and customers and help deliver safety training and site specific crisis drills.
  • Ensure the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) products are stocked and available for all employees, vendors and customers
  • Actively participate in weekly company safety leadership meetings

What You Bring To The Role
  • High School education or equivalent is required. Military experience or college education is preferred
  • Must possess working knowledge of accident investigations, accident prevention and OSHA regulations
  • Strong organizational and information management skills with emphasis on detail and record-keeping
  • Ability to relay verbal and written information concisely, effectively and professionally
  • Excellent interpersonal and observational skills
  • The candidate should have the ability to establish a strong partnership with all levels of leadership in a retail or warehouse location
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in retail, loss prevention and safety is preferred
  • Strong customer service skills
  • A professional appearance and demeanor
