The Team

The PVH Europe Sustainability Department is responsible for establishing and driving the sustainability vision for Tommy Hilfiger Global & supporting CK Europe’s sustainability commitments. Our new Make it Possible strategy has launched on Aug 2020 and is led by our vision to Create Fashion that Wastes Nothing and Welcomes All, with two main focus areas: Circularity and Inclusivity.

The Position

We are looking for an enthusiastic Sustainability Manager who will work in the Tommy Hilfiger/PVH Europe Sustainability team at our office in Amsterdam. You will be part of the Sustainable Operations Team, with an initial focus on the development of the Sustainable Logistics and Waste Management Programs, supporting the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Program, and reporting to the VP of Sustainability.

In your role you will be responsible for the co-creation of initiatives and programs related to the implementation and expansion of the sustainable operations strategy across PVH Europe and Tommy Hilfiger Global. Along with driving the strategy in the operations area, you will also grow strong communication externally and drive the internal embedding and operationalization of the diverse programs to secure integrity as well as maximum return on investment for the brand.

Greenhouse Gas reduction program

Together with the Sustainable Operations Team, you will lead and influence the development & operationalization of Greenhouse Gas reduction program focusing on:

  • Renewable Energy Sourcing using various procurement mechanisms such as Green Contracts, Power Purchase Agreements, and Biofuels. This includes Certification Processes (GoO, RECs)
  • Sustainable Logistics (Upstream & Downstream transportation and distribution), E-commerce (full value chain, including logistics, reverse logistics and post-consumer)
  • Sustainable business travel and events

In addition you will:

  • Influence & drive engagement of key stakeholders to ensure successful program implementation  
  • Provide ad-hoc support for PVH Europe Logistics and Omni Chanel teams, advising on sustainability content
  • Educate & inform internal stakeholders on key topics such as Green Contracts and Renewable Energy Certification Processes
  • Provide tailored support to PVH Europe Logistics and Omni Chanel teams, to create frameworks for sustainability programs and internal targets
  • Assist in providing subject matter expertise and content on selected environmental impacts, ensuring internal claims are substantiated with quantitative data based on Life Cycle Assessment approach 
  • Support the Greenhouse Gas reporting process in line with international accounting standards (GHG Protocol, CDP)

Waste management

Lead the Zero Waste Program for European markets focusing on:

  • Co-create and implement the program roadmap and activities
  • Support the investigation and implementation of Circular Design and Circular Business Models for the build environment
  • Bring visibility to the program and embed within the business 
  • Ensure project KPIs and targets from agreed-upon project plans are met
  • Provide input to ensure Tommy Hilfiger needs are met during co-creation of future sustainability program plans and initiatives
  • Support local European teams to ensure visibility of data, and discussions with third parties
  • Represent brand interests at global forums and meetings with external stakeholders including key stakeholders from the industry

The Ideal Candidate 

  • University degree in Environmental Science, or equivalent
  • 7-10 years of related work experience
  • Demonstrated experience in setting up change driving programs and Project Management
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, Project and PowerPoint
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated knowledge of waste management strategies (prevention and disposal), sustainable logistics and greenhouse gas reduction strategies (Scope 1, 2 & 3)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholders management skills
  • Experience with sustainability and numerical assessment
  • Knowledge and previous experience working with: Sustainable Logistics, Carbon Footprint Accounting and Reporting, Greenhouse Gas Abatement Measures, Life Cycle Assessment, Circular Economy, Circular Design, and Waste Management
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and sustainability strategy development & implementation
  • Good analytical skills and strategic insight
  • Ambitious and results oriented

  • Pro-active and responsive
