Position Overview
The Data Scientist will support our Merchandising & Sales Operations Teams with insights gained from analyzing company data. The ideal candidate is adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. Have a strong experience using a variety of data and a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Lead product analytics experiments
* Rapid data insight prototyping
* Productionizing of data products, with the goal to provide the organization
* Develop data-driven products
* Mining/data analysis methods
* Building and implementing models
* Using/creating algorithms
* Creating/running simulations
* Liaison between IT and the Merchants
* Collect challenges the business is facing to keep the lab pipeline filled
* Draft cohesive ideas and solutions to these problems

Experience, Skills & Knowledge
We're looking for someone with experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models, has a Master's or PHD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field, and is familiar with the following software/tools: Ø Working knowledge of SQL, Excel Wizard (VBA, complex formulas, Power Query etc.), Microsoft Azure Ø Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets. Ø Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) Ø A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques. Ø Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc. Ø Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages: R, Python, SLQ, etc. Ø Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc. Ø Data normalization, Data visualization, Python, Strong Problem solving skills, Lateral thinking, Data-oriented personality
