Social Media Specialist - Esports

Shopify Rebellionis looking for someone to fill the role of social media specialist.In this role, you'll be responsible for growing our brand and sharing our stories across multiple social media platforms. We're looking for someone with a deep knowledge of the social media platforms where esports fansconvene and gather online and develop, execute, analyze and optimize a strategy to drive consistent organic growth and engagement.

To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, being goal-oriented, thinking critically, managing multiple projects, and building relationships across teams. You work well under pressure, are a creative at heart, and can both set and deliver on hard deadlines while simultaneously thriving in a changing environment. You are organized, detail-oriented, and are comfortable pushing the status quo.

  • Overseeing strategic planning, execution, and optimization of organic and paid social media content across multiple channels, including (but not limited to) Twitter, YouTube, and Reddit
  • Collaborating with internal teams to improve social performance overall and identify storytelling opportunities to engage an esports audience
  • Building social media campaigns with the Rebellion team
  • Leveraging analytics platforms to assess program delivery and opportunities to grow
  • Collaborating and advising on marketing goals, delivery requirements, milestones, and desired outcomes
  • Creating a consistent and engaging social presence for Shopify Rebellion
  • Monitoring our social channels to identify risks and opportunities
  • Managing and collaborating with teamleaders and C-level executives


  • Prior experience managing and growing social channels
  • Exceptional written communication skills - you're a clear and concise writer and can distill complex topics into 280 attention-grabbing characters
  • Familiarity with the social media platforms on which the esports communitygathers and a good sense of the type of content and tactics that will perform well with these audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver on deadlines to ensure projects are delivered on time
  • A keen eye for detail and a strong desire for efficiency
  • A self-starter who is excited to problem-solve
  • Comfort and experience in building strong relationships with audiences and stakeholders at multiple levels in a corporate setting
  • Comfort in identifying data for storytelling and reporting on social channel performance

Bonus experience
  • Experience managing video content production
  • Experience in a marketing role
  • Experience building channels from the ground up
