Our esports team, known as the Shopify Rebellion, is looking for someone to fill the role of storyteller. We're looking for someone who is able to both conceptualize and execute story driven content across esports. Adaptability is key as our program grows, and the right candidate should be comfortable working on both long and short form projects, and on both in-person and remote productions.

You'll be responsible for things like:
  • Leading the conception, design and production on all Shopify Rebellion media
  • Developing a content schedule that focuses on impactful storytelling opportunities
  • Developing and overseeing a catalogue of all digital team assets
  • Working with individual players on their own storytelling / brand building
  • Managingthe entire process of content production, from idea to distribution
  • Workingwith external partners on live events and broadcasts


Qualifications

  • An understanding of where storytelling gaps exist in esports
  • Video production experience across a variety of formats and distribution channels
  • An ability to lead other team members or external support in the development of your ideas
  • Strong editorial judgement
  • Strong background in pop-culture, gaming and the internet
  • Deeply creative, with the operational excellence to guide your vision to life
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Experience creating budgets and allocating resources across multiple projects simultaneously

It would be a bonus if you had:
  • Experience with international distribution
  • Experience repackaging live broadcasts into more narrative formats
