Job Details

  • Providing visibility into what product teams are working on, timelines, and risks so leadership, key stakeholders and the rest of Shopify know what's shipping, by when, and for whom.
  • Owning the rituals for alignment, accountability and feedback, and drive their rhythm.
  • Ensuring the right people are involved in the right projects at the right time.
  • Identifying and escalating risks across dozens of projects without being deeply involved in any.
  • Building a culture of transparency, where we share issues openly and celebrate successes together. It's important to share learnings as much as we share wins.
  • Creating and sharing content for collective clarity on purpose, priorities and progress.
  • Developing a deep understanding of how teams work and what's in their way, to solve bottlenecks, streamline communication, and help us focus and move faster to make merchants successful.
  • Contributing expertise to refine the product operations craft and grow its impact.
  • Collaborating with frontline teams, Data and Research to disseminate insights leading to data-informed product development.


Qualifications

You'll need to have:
  • Created order out of chaos by asking tough questions and communicating clearly.
  • Implemented minimum viable processes and influenced team behaviours.
  • A combination of technical depth and an eye for business to help teams make decisions.
  • A can-do attitude; You will roll up your sleeves and get things done, while thinking in systems.
  • Shown an entrepreneurial mindset to deliver impact in ambiguous environments.
  • Built empathy and high trust relationships across teams.
  • Experience working in operations, process improvement and/or program management.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • A natural talent for communication and driving behaviour via indirect leadership.

It'd be great if you also had:
  • Experience in a Growth organization or product management life cycle experience while working with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. agile, waterfall).
  • Experience working in the tech space, consultancy or another high-pace industry - it's important to understand our platform and the products we deliver.
